@OblivionZealot well, their main focus was on AC3 which is coming out this year, but they made brotherhood and revelations to keep fans interested until then and to expand upon ezios story line, introduce new gameplay options, piece ac2 and 3 together, and explain a few things about desmond and the assassins, btw brotherhood and revelations are still main games in the series, so you probably shouldn't skip over them.
