When you turn 45 that heaven sent insurance is going to start disappearing and will be completely gone by the time you turn 55, you will no longer be covered. Not to mention that taxes will more than triple to compensate. There is no such thing as "free healthcare" some one some where is paying for it, in this case, the taxpayers.

Should we solve that by getting government involved, force people to buy insurance under penalty of prison, and call it 'giving them free insurance', or should we provide tax breaks to the charitable organizations providing free medical care to those who can't afford it so they can expand their reach? While Europe, his great examples, try to move away from their expensive systems towards the private sector. You can't get hurt in Europe, maybe even Canada. Studying in Europe we were told not to get seriously hurt or sick, because we would have to find a Hospital with the shortest line. My fiance's aunt was literally dying waiting for help, she has a few sicknesses, one was causing water to be stores in her legs and stomach cancer. The lobbies were able to remove from this plan the point more dangerous for their interests (the public option), because that point probably would be choosen by millions of Americans. The great thing about the NHS is if you're suddenly made redundant and unfortunately get cancer or another serious condition you will be helped, altenatively you can go to a private firm.

There are lots of hidden new taxes. Doctors are allowed to refer only 5% of patients to specialists or be fined. That's rationing. Included is a govt take over of student loans. This isn't healthcare. Why would he want the power to decide who gets loans and who doesn't? Which colleges can have students with loans and which can't? It is the poor that ends up getting screwed even if that isn't the intention. All I do is raise my rates. Who gets screwed? The poor, thats who. The poor want something for free but don't see it comes back on them.
Not to mention there are not enough "rich" people to pay for all of his spending. Everybody is going to pay. Pelosi and her value added tax. All that does is increase the cost of everything you buy reguardless of income. Who pays? Everyone.. You can't lift the poor up by hurting those doing well. It ends up hurting everyone.
Do you realize people pay no fed tax until they make about 50,000 a yr so the poor are not paying tax other than maybe state and sales tax. They are raising sales tax in multiple places & on multiple things. Who does that hurt? You have to look at what 0bama does vs what he says. I have nothing against the poor but if they realized how things effect them, they may not be so fast to support all these programs because it's the working poor that get really hurt the most and they don't know why.
Guess what if you don't take his half ass plan you get to pay a fine, this universal health-care is for those people that made the wrong choices in life and now their suffering, because they messed up. Now the people with jobs have to pay for those bums that slacked in life...good luck everyone.

While Europe, his great examples, try to move away from their expensive systems towards the private sector. You can't get hurt in Europe, maybe even Canada. Studying in Europe we were told not to get seriously hurt or sick, because we would have to find a Hospital with the shortest line. My fiance's aunt was literally dying waiting for help, she has a few sicknesses, one was causing water to be stores in her legs and stomach cancer. Waiting she looked like a zombie, and died a few days later.

In Britain, people have a choice to go private for certain new medicines or practices that are to costly for the NHS to use.
The great thing about the NHS is if you're suddenly made redundant and unfortunately get cancer or another serious condition you will be helped, altenatively you can go to a private firm.

As a British guy I can tell you that public healthcare works.
Sure, the NHS has it's faults but imagine loosing your job through no fault of your own and suddenly becoming ill, who is going to help you?
I got my eye test free and money off my frames (I still had to pay a little because I chose Hugo Boss branded ones).
Healthcare works, stop being so afraid of anything remotely communist.

@G1NZOU I'm from Spain and I can say also that public healthcare works. From heart attacks to cancer, the vast majority of spaniards receive treatment under the National Insurance. It's very few the people who spent money on private insurance.

I know everyone in Europe thinks it's because of greedy corporations, but greedy corporations did not ruin Greece and threaten France. Why does everyone in the world think that you get denied healthcare here? You don't, most states have a low income form that is the same doctors as insurance. Most of the world has no idea how this country works.

@G1NZOU The problem in comparing the British healthcare system and the Canadian healthcare system with the US is that people forget to factor the population of the UK and Canada compared to the population of the US.
California and NewYork have a larger population than Canada and the UK.

yeah, it's also a great job how he's going to sick the irs on people who don't want healthcare via stealing their tax refunds, allowing them to you into your savings accounts to collect the "fine" money, or even put you in jail if you don't comply. why couldn't they leave that part out and don't bring up the line about "what if you get sick" people who know how to take care of themselves don't get sick, even major diseases. and just have an accident policy if worry about accidents.

@TeslaDRay, Imagine all the people who have lost their jobs in the current recession. How can they pay for their own or their family's treatment? They are needed to reclaim jobs to help boost the economy, With out a healthy workforce, the economy suffers. I lost my job in 2008, when the company I worked for, downsized to cope with the recession. 3 months later I injured myself, and was incapacitated. The Australian medicare system paid for my operation. Was Back at college and new job in 2 weeks

Damn, your story makes me think. I always said I supported people getting help if they had no means for the help. Your situation is one of those, but there are other people out there who let their bodies go to hell, and then raid the healthcare systemk because of it. in that part am i wrong?
I still don';t like the anti-constitution aspect of this bill though. i know they say it will prevent freeloading but hell if thats the case, refuse care unless in emergency.

There are lots of hidden new taxes. Doctors are allowed to refer only 5% of patients to specialists or be fined. That's rationing. Included is a govt take over of student loans. This isn't healthcare. Why would he want the power to decide who gets loans and who doesn't? Which colleges can have students with loans and which can't? When obama began govt takeover of healthcare, he sent out e-mails asking his supporters to report on any neighbors speaking against the bill.

I sympathize with everyone's desire to obtain affordable health care. I just have 2questn's.1.The lady in the video complains that her health insurance premiums are high because those without insurance run to the emergency room after letting symptoms go too long. How high will the gov't premiums go when they run to the doctor every time they stub their toe because it's free? 2.Where,in this new plan is the promise that the Feds won't raise our premium just like the "tyranical" insurance Co's?

Like the FAA which oversees the aviation industry, why can there be some sort of government agency to oversee these private insurance companies. It has long been clear that these companies have for a long time needed a harness with regard to rate increases while gaining record profits while some families cannot afford insurance on their own at all.

As far as I know, and I learned this in an IR-Economy class so it might not be exact, the US is losing about 8$ bn per year only from healthcare previous to Obama's healthcare system, with it the US will be losing double->quadruple that amount. You know, it might seem that you can just borrow money forever, but you should realize that you're gonna have to give it back someday, u already owe 100x more than your GNP. Obamas point that his plan is cheaper is a big lie, think about it, it CANT BE!

Do you realize people pay no fed tax until they make about 50,000 a yr so the poor are not paying tax other than maybe state and sales tax. They are raising sales tax in multiple places & on multiple things. Who does that hurt? You have to look at what 0bama does vs what he says. I have nothing against the poor but if they realized how things effect them, they may not be so fast to support all these programs because it's the working poor that get really hurt the most and they don't know why.
