  • Magic

  • such a treasure that this was made. I wish it was 8 hours LOL

  • my sound and image doesn't sync?

    anybody else?

  • Yes, it's maddening!

  • i love how he says every time "just the first 8" or even "just the 1st phrase" and both he and Bill become too captivated that the music just keeps going on and on way past the original intent.

  • Ya I saw that. Jazz is like "freedom" within the structure, and I can only imagine that it's difficult to play the basic melody/harmony...

  • Great to see someone who knows what they're talking about. I'm a new Bill Evans fan after seeing this video.

  • yes me also

    the same thing

  • yup

  • I love the way they move from the piano, "let's talk about this" LOL

  • this is just incredible. Bill Evans is a giant among giants.

  • Damn, what a sound and what a class act.

  • best ever!!!!!

  • his brother is THE LUCKIEST ever. gets to stand right next to bill while he delivers those sweet sweet intepretations.. grrrrrr

  • Would you feel lucky if your brother was the genius in the family?

  • I second that statement

  • Brilliant...!

  • absolutely genius, this made my day. he is my favorite ever. thanks so much for posting this.

  • is that joe franklin?

  • thank you for posting. Very very useful

    grazie

  • It's amazing that this video was made with the non-musician in mind; Bill and Harry certainly give professional musicians a lot to ponder here, too. A great reminder of why we do what we do. Thank you, tdkemi, for posting this beautiful film.

  • Our public library has this video. It's fantastic. Bill and his brother. They died close together. They were very close. The story of his last days in "Bill Evans: How My Heart Sings" by Peter Pettinger is so very, very sad. All he wanted to do was play and at the early age of 51 he died.

  • truly a huge inspiration in my life. i studied this technique of learning how to play jazz growing up. here's my vid, i'm amazed of how much bill evans influences my playing even today.

  • agree with mr possiblitities! thank you again for the video!!

  • This is so far the best, most beautyfull and most usefull thing I have found on youtube or the internet for that matter
