Does anyone know if its better to cylce your tank with certain fish for a smooth transition to cichlids?

i don't recommend having a red tailed shark and the cons i had them together before and they get VERY territorial

@292rocky everything in the tank died I only have a 20 gallon now but hope to fix it up again any suggestions? And also the red-tailed shark I had was actually pretty good.

Wow you are supposed to put clown loaches in large schools! And you do know that a clown loach will get 12 inches long, right? Also where did you buy your raphael catfish. Nice tank btw

i have to say if the angels are acting like that and when i say that i mean just hanging in one place in the tank u mite not have spacific water peramiters coz they are a sensative fish , i have 1 in a 20 gallon and like 2 minutes after i put him in it was like hed been in there for ages ,

hey just a note the chichlids will prob attack and kill the angles if you have chichlids you cant get community fish or they will get attacked also check out my tank its and idea for your tank it is a community tank planted with live plant

@suburbanshicken My chichlids don't bother any of my fish the male convict died the Angel fish died also can't seem to keep Angel fish alive in my tank they might be just crappy fish but I'm not sure.

Just a little heads up. The live plant that you have in your tank is not a true aquatic plant. It's called Gold Ribbon Plant. It will eventually die submerged in the aquarium. What you want to stick with are Anubias or Java Ferns. I had the same thing in my tank. They did die, unfortunately. Hope this helps you out.

Nice tank the only thing I see that might be a problem is the clown loach they like to live in groups. And they can get up to a foot long but they grow really slow so might want to take that into consideration

@Superthecod Definetly get the 55 you can put more of a big varity of fish in the tank and it is easier to yake care of let me know what u get. Good Luck!
