I just bought this camera last night but haven't had a chance to open it yet. How do you upload videos onto youtube? Also despite some of the negative reviews I have read about this camera, I heard if you set the mode to HQ , you can end up with a very good quality video.

you are mistaken, this is not a HD camera.

the HDD on the side means hard disk drive not high definition...

this a standard def. cam.

I dont think you will need a memory card I have never come close to filling it. and the battery is pretty legit. I would say it last around two or three hours. but to be honest I have never totally drainned it.
