  • Awesome rolls and flams there, and I love the kick accents.

  • I've watched this drum battle clip a hundred times and the Crazy Army intro into the cowbell groove is still the coolest part. Gadd's first solo break is also badass. Chops are cool, but they don't give me goose bumps like the intro does.

  • Was that Jeff Porcaro in the beginning :D?

  • @smitske1990: It was Vinnie Colaiuta. Here's the full version: youtube dot com/watch?v=Ln6b_nBM-V8

  • what is the beat after the crazy army? the one wit the co bellw

  • 17 people are steve gadds snare and to get trolled on.

  • I remember the song!! Chuck Mangione's Legend Of The One Eyed Sailor...opens with the Steve Gadd military drums!!

  • Gotta say....some might call this boring, but I think this is great!! Wish I could see the whole thing!! Gotte be here on youtube somewhere!!

  • OMG!! Please....someone help me with this one!! I remember Steve used this as the opening of a Chuck Mangione tune, but I can't remember which one!! *sigh*...gettin old sucks somedays!!!

  • OMG!! Please....someone help me with this one!! I remember Steve used this as the opening of a Chuck Mangione tune, but I can't remember which one!! *sigh*...gettin old sucks somedays!!!

  • what heads are those on his toms? they sound awesome! Then again, gadd could make cardboard sound awesome

  • You shouldnt have cut the cowbell - it grooves so very much. Full video can be found if you just look for Weckl, Gadd, Colaiuta :)

  • @VaLTrantor Wowww!!Thanks...i found the whole clip!! Just awesome....speechless!! These guys are vicious!

  • For all those who say this solo's "boring"------let's hear YOU play it!!!!

  • More cowbell. I need more cowbell

  • Dudes, it doesn't take a technical masterpiece to move an audience... besides Gadd has done that thousands fo times. Instead Gadd decided to play a simple solo with an amazing sense of groove and perfect ghost notes.

  • version of electric wheelchair!!

  • electric wheelchair lol

  • this solo was tight anyone know where i can find the whole solo??

  • @KRUNKFAMENT u could google electric wheelchair for a version of the snare part... its a marching drumline cadence

  • @KRUNKFAMENT the solo is called crazy army, its a classic

  • best part of this video is the last 3 seconds. GROOVIN AS FUCK. watch the 9 min vid of this. it starts right where this one left off. they all rip it up. especially steve.

  • army men

  • damn that kick is powerful

  • Gadd is a truly one of a kind drummer. There are not many people who can come up withe chops and rolls he can. Brilliant stuff.

  • rrdrums0110/youwishyoucouldplay=same pathetic troller=SPAM

  • Haha this sounds like SCV electric wheelchair! Very good playing! Gotta love Gadd!

  • This guy has physical limitations

  • The rhythm that Steve is playing here is the opening rhythm for the Chuck Mangione song "Legend Of The One Eyed Sailor" .

  • Youwishyoucouldplay/Imsorry110/rrdrums110 Blah blah blah, samed old tired comments.

    SPAM for you troll.

  • This solo is as boring as watching paint dry!!! especially in a BUDDY RICH memerial. You've got to be kidding. Buddy would hate it... And could play it one handed.

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay What a fat sack of dumb crap you are hahaha! I bet your a retarded metal drummer who doesn't appreciate the real stuff? I have a question for you. Do you know what the big word TECHNIQUE means? Because BUDDY RICH was all into TECHNIQUE, and so is STEVE GADD. Buddy Rich is fast, Steve Gadd has finesse. Two different things, now stop trolling and appreciate the stuff that you need to learn

  • @ParallaxDrums What an assumptive dumbass you are...Calling ne a metal lover..Yuck. I'm into jazz and fusion. I'm of the Billy Cobham level of playing but I'm striving to get to Tony Williams' greatness. Both of them shit in the toilet Gadd lives in.

  • @rrdrums0110 Your at the level of taking a shit when you sit at the drums, you nobody! Upload a video of yourself doing crazy army like this including the cowbell beat dickface or STFU "retardrums0110"

  • @ParallaxDrums Someone either tell me this Gaddfly has one lung missing or emphysema or I'm spamming this Geritol drinking slomo biatch to death up in here!!!!

  • @drummerforreal1 "I'm spamming" yeah Jeff the ex janitor here spams everyone, he says his daddy worked in a top secret lab at NASA , and that the moon landing is fake and that no one has ever been to the moon, his brother is also a famous book writer and he can play the drums better than Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, of course when anyone asks him to back it up his ball shrink and he diverts, run's away, changes the subject, or just insults people, ignore the troll.

  • best melodie!

  • Just love how he works that base drum!

  • yea this is only 52 seconds of a 10 minute solo with weckl, colaiuta & gadd. the whole thing is THE FUKIN BOMB! Awsome

  • To se Ti povedlo, Ty mamlasi...

  • ah man it stops just as he's about to really get it going

  • This is the site where shit for sticks fucktards pretend that Steve Gadd is more important than upper echelon drummers.Drummerslike Tony Williams Buddy Rich Elvin Jones and currently Billy Kilson. Did I mention that you were fucktardnon players w/a clay foot idol?

  • @Imsorry110 go fuck yourself!!

  • Yes! This is Crazy army tabs ;]

  • anyone know where i can find Steve Gadds - Crazy Army tabs???

  • wut a tight snare

  • I dont know why people compare artist who are a generation or two (or more) apart because the later comparison always has the upper hand (better or not) because he/she can draw from collective memory and recorded history such as any innovations in the field and in the field of drumming it's always changing and giving birth to new innovations. Buddy wouldn't have a clue what to do with a 9 piece drum set. Gavin Harrison does but he's not better or worse at the drums than buddy, just different.

  • buddy wouldnt have any idea what to do with a 9 piece kit well my dumbass friend it dosent take a huge kit to produce great music it dosent matter how big your kit is buddy could drum circles around a guy with a 30 piece kit

  • this solo is called "crazy army"

  • Well throw Tony Williams in there and up the ante

  • And here's the biggest loser on the Internet rrdrums110 looking to incite more loser attention, lol.

Mission accomplished loser. Then he deletes his account which makes him a two time loser AND a raving coward.

    What a candy ass girl.

Seriously people don't pay loser rrdrums any mind. He runs around youtube starting his Sally shit then runs away to hide like the coward he is.

  • Buddy Rich would have been real worried about losing a gig to this guy?

  • @rrdrums110 Mate, he sure wouldn't have been worried about losing a gig to you!!

  • Okay ... Buddy Rich and Steve Gadd do two entirely different things. A comparison shows narrowness and disrespect for a couple of really great drummers.

btw ... where can we hear some of your work? Be fun to put you into the loop of substance, or not.

  • Yea its disrepectful to both. But from a technical point of view, Rich could do a LOT more than Gadd could. Yes Gadd has great grooves but here all I see are slow flam taps and a few drags. Not much that impresses. I have seen better Gadd videos, dont worry. I know this isnt his best (at ALL), but I do think he is a little overrated at times. Now is the time where everyone downrates me!

  • I think you're making a good observation here ... Yes, not one of his best videos. Even so, I've always appreciated how Gadd seems to fit into the music groove when backing up a group, whomever the group. It's like a different light bulb goes on. (Example: Al Jarreau with Gadd drumming.)

Just reading the discussion here (obviously) confirms that he's worthy of discussion. And, his ongoing contribution to the music industry ... we're lucky to have so much video to enjoy!

  • Oh no doubt at all. Gadd's musicality is far beyond most players who are masters in technique. To me, it may not appear as impressive, but it certainly something that deserves a great(er) honor. But on the other hand, his technique is not up to par with some other players (Rich, Colaiuta, Smith etc). And his clinic's nowadays are not too much fun; he gets tired very quickly! So we dont get to see all the awesome grooves, haha!

  • so sick, I love it, Im gonna learn how to do it

  • does anyone hear electric wheelchair in that?

  • im pretty positive that electric wheelchair came from this.

  • agreed

  • gadd best ever

  • Yeah ! It´s good -gradually coming alive so to speak.

  • for all you people saying this solo is boring you need to see it in the context of the whole vid, this is an excerpt from a group solo with vinny and dave. dave and vinny go before steve and just put out some chop busters (which gadd is capable of doing), but instead of boring the audience with another technical masterpiece... he simplifys it and puts out somthing that the audience can bop their head to. changing it up like this gets a good response is a great technique when

  • @charlielloydboyd

exactly, gadd isn't about blowing your dick off with shit that most people can't figure out how to do, gadd's all about finesse and showing people whats up

  • @charlielloydboyd any idea the name of said performance? I'd love to watch it.

  • @late1 type in king of drummers, this is the buddy rich memorial concert

  • @late1 just write Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Gadd on youtube and it is the 9 minute 3 second video

  • @charlielloydboyd agreed. you need to view the entire video to do the performance justice. it's amazing. plus to play what steve gadd is playing in that excerpt that clean and accurately requires a lot of skill.

  • what heads are on those toms?

  • i guess clear powerstroke 4...very popular in the 80s....

  • Gadd's snare drum technique is so clean. I guess when you're in the Army playing drums, you have to be crisp. Also, it's amazing how much HATE drummers show one another on youtube. Between the racism and just plain ignorance, makes me ashamed of being a drummer. Now I understand why Cobham moved to Switzerland - to get away from all the ignorance the Western Hemisphere promotes.

  • well said!sometimes on youtube its so ridicilous (bad spelling) that some people just say stupid stuff bout good drummers like joey jordison!yes being fast isnt everything but its just another way of being a good drummer!

  • @fnkdrmmr

Agree totally, the vitriol displayed in many of these threads embarrasses me as a drummer. I just want to play music, not have a pissing competition.

The biggest offenders are the speed & chops trolls. This drummer is faster than that drummer, this guy is better than that one, ad infinitum.

They don't get it; music isn't a sport. Sometimes less is more and the value of an individual such as Gadd is far more influential than some expressionless, banal display of ego.

  • @Samsgarden What's wrong w/gadd? Did he lose a lung? have a bad ticker? Have a rule of never breaking a sweat or playing more than 200 Bpm's for any reason what so ever? why can't he lift a drumstick no bigger than a chop stick up and propel it into a drum head so that some true percussion might occur. God he has great tech but no fire. EVER

  • @fnkdrmmr No Cobham hated seeing Gadd play live so he moved to Switzerland.

  • @fnkdrmmr Couldn't agree with you more! We've still got a LONG way to go in this country when it comes to appreciating REAL talent in musicians! I don't blame Billy for moving to Switzerland (many other prominent jazz/fusion musicians have relocated to Europe) I mean........why should they stay here when Americans worship bullshit like Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, Snoop Dog, etc........pitiful.

  • @fnkdrmmr I fucking love cobham... so under rated <3 Jus sayin

  • @fnkdrmmr i understand your point, and think its a good one, but just so you know, Switzerland is still in the western hemisphere. and even if it werent, theres just as much ignorance and racism promoted in the eastern hemisphere. ignorance and racism arent geographical characteristics, theyre human characteristics.

  • @Mrforevernemo I sadly agree with you...

  • man he was playing that bass drum like he was trying to stop the car from going over the cliff.............gaddallmighty we lv ya.

    gadd's my man................as allways fantastic.

  • drumming isnt for people to hear, or compare or judge. its for you to enjoy when you play alone... thats all that counts. if you enjoy what you play when you sit down at YOUR KIT then cheers to you all!

  • *bass drum beater smashes through the drum head*

    **applause**

  • Z0mGdzz that's lyk s0oo0 shit lyk joey jordizon is way btr dan dis fag0t.

Fuckers who talk like that really piss me off.

Yes, I'm a naive little 13 year old drummer.

And even I have the decency and knowledge to know that Joey and other metal drummers who probably practiced for 5 minutes on a double kick pedal are just fucking shallow.

Steve Gadd revolutionized drumming and music in the 70's.

    He's a fucking legend.

Anyone asshole who thinks otherwise is obviously a wannabe.

    CAN I GET A AMEN?!

  • you can have a "WORD" and an "AMEN" for that man.

  • AMEN ! and yeah i hate ghetto motherfuckers that try to make ther pathetic lives better by writing like that

  • i know what you're saying and agree..

but your comparing oranges and bread. Metal drums take skill. all styles take skill. and thats the difference between them. the STYLES.

  • Cobham moved to Switzerland?

  • steve played with the great steely dan!!

  • i loled. in the start i is yea, but then it changes to another drummer, who's Steve Gadd.

  • at the beggining it's vinny, but most of this video features steve gadd's performance

  • Mr. Gadd,

You are the Jo Jones--the everything. Thanks for keeping jazz drumming alive. Your fans adore and respect you.

  • Look at that blink on 0:08:P HA

  • Comment removed

  • rrdrums....DO YOU EVER SHUT UP? You are so fricking annoying. You are an asshole with a capital A.

  • lolland30...Where's my invitation to come to your Gadd time measurement and experimental time warp laboratory? I can do it I tell ya. I'll be the first one ever to pass the time machine measuring device after how many hundreds or was it thousands failed?

  • Lolland30. Ok I get it You run a laboratory that's set up w/measuring instruments. Then you find Bad mouth gadd drummers then somehow u get em to come get measured on advancing retarding beat. And so far nobody has passed the measurement test meter? I know I can. How do I get to your world famous Institute to have the GaDD TIME TESTING DONE? IT is certified yes?Is there a prize for staying at right timing?Probably not since nobody ever wins huh?

Just to have you test me would be an honor.

  • You left a comment about Gadd not having power in his ankle to make you feel the bass beat right? This video should have a special title just for you: "Congratulations, You're Retarded"

  • electric wheelchair woooh

  • hahahaha

  • I think this the spot in Steve Gadd's life , that crazy army was sounded more apropriate and nice.

  • what snare head was gadd using here??

  • Thats so funny when Dave and Vinnie do awesome ass solos and Steve just does that plain dull and modest snare drum solo xD

  • Steve Gadd!!!!!

  • btw this sounds better than someone just hitting on a double bass it has rhythem not just speed but joey or whatefver has speed ill give him that but im sure he wouldnt say he is better than steve gadd

  • Check out derek roddy!

  • he better not say hes better than gadd, hell go to hell for that

  • JOEY FROM SLIPKNOT! FOOL! how about you know what you are talking about steve gadd is one of the greatest drumers as shown by the 80'000 quotes from drummers that matter not joey from slipknot

  • hey rrdrums110... did you miss me?

as i stated before, Gadd accomplished more by the time he was 11 years old, then you have in your 57 years.

Gadd is not just a funk drummer my friend, he is pretty much the only drummer that has recorded in all the musical genres. Buddy rich and Louie Bellson have all commented on Gadds ability to play jazz.

So i am posting these quotes on Gadd once again, just to prove how insignificant your opinion really is.

  • thanks for calling that dude out, i read a comment rrdrums110 left on another one of gadds videos and i was furious because of the things he was saying about gadd

  • Apparently rrdrums110 has now gone to other videos and attacked not only Gadd but Louie Bellson. Then he made some digs at young Matt Smith, who promptly suggested that rrdrums110 was a pretend drummer and a fraud. This really got Mr. rr going. I think Smith is on to something. Everyone insist that rrdrums110 post video or admit he doesn't play drums. Come on, you know he doesn't.

  • ppl have better things to do than pick on some sore loser, he is not even worthy of attention.

  • MAN I AM REALLY THANKFUL 4 ALL YOU SAID! you said the facts exactly like they are! (sr 4 bad english) I am a 16 yo drummer, i am playing drums for 2 years now and steve gadd is my idol! I cant stand people that talk bad about steve gadd! and surely not them who thnk joey jordison as a good drummer!

  • Buddy Rich

I love drummers, but it disappoints me because they have not elevated the art of drumming. They've set it back quite a few years.

I think the only guy who made a dent in the change-over, if you want to call it that, was Gadd.

  • Buddy Rich

"Steve Gadd was and probably still is, the best at that particular kind of drumming. I think that's because he has a jazz background, so he's able to incorporate it when he plays. He was very interesting in the beginning. Out of all the drummers I've heard, Gadd would have to be the one who has the most class behind the drums.*

  • "I was stunned. No one had ever done anything like that before. I couldn't believe it."

Donald Fagan of Steely Dan, after Steve Gadd had sightread the entire chart to "Aja" flawlessly

  • Peter Erskine;

"I can't think of another percussionist today who has inspired more drummers than Steve Gadd. His level of innovation, sheer technical mastery of the instrument, and dedication to the groove in every style of music he plays has delighted and instructed countless drummers in how good drumming can be. I'm grateful for every paradiddle, single and double stroke the man has ever played."

  • Vinnie Colaiuta;

" I couldn't believe it from the first time I heard Steve. Not only does he do what he does with technical brilliance, but he basically put the word "music" right in the forefront of the drums. His influence on me was tremendous, as well as his influence on the entire drumming and musical world!"

  • Dennis Chambers

"Steve is one of the greatest drummers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. He caused me many a nights' headaches trying to figure out his rhythms, but I enjoyed doing it."

    Kenny Aronoff;

"Steve Gadd is one of the greatest and most influential drummers/musicians ever! His feel, ideas and talent with music and drumming are at the highest level possible. It's an honor to know him."

  • Carter Beauford;

"I got my first Yamaha kit in 1978 because my hero, Steve Gadd, used them. I still play a black Recording Custom kit beacuse of him."

    Steve Smith;

"His pocket is the deepest, his time is flawless and his ideas innovative. In fact, I get asked all the time about a certain fill I played in the Journey tune "Separate Ways", my answer: it's a Gadd lick, and I stole it! thank you Steve for all the incredible music"

  • Andy Newmark (former drummer of John Lennon, David Bowie, Keith Richards, Sly & the Family Stone, Roxy Music and many others.) ;

"Steve is an institution. When you see him play he makes it all make sense. The reason it always works is because Steve is playing Steve. He's probably the first guy to understand and have a genuine feel for rock and pop-and have the technical facility and feel of a jazz drummer as well. He's an original, poetry in motion"

  • Louie Bellson;

"Steve Gadd represents one of the most complete players in the world. He has it all, technique, groove, you name it. I've been a big fan of his for many years."

    Chick Corea

"Every drummer wants to play like Gadd because he plays perfect... He has brought orchestral and compositional thinking to the drum kit while at the same time having a great imagination and a great ability to swing."

  • rrdrums110: Here's the issue: Your whole agrument is "the more chops, the better the drummer". That is a very tired argument that has never had merit. You can be the fastest, have the best chops and I guarentee you 99.99999% of the time, in the vast majority of popular/rock music, you will never use those skills. Why, because most songs do not require or want the drummer to be all over the place. He's there to provide the backing. Jazz may offer a player improv, but it's a form few listen to.

  • Comment removed

  • charlie loyd boy.. at 25 just another punk w/shit for brains w/no time behind a drumset and to Seaclamb who thinks all things are equal.. They're clarly not but I do like kunkel more than Gadd but robinson or Keltner are best studio drummers for the masses

  • For rrdrums110: You need to grow up. Gadd is a legend. No one in the industry would deny that. Just because he may not be your cup of tea, doesn't make him a bad drummer. Personally, I don't care for Colaiuta or Weckl, but I still recognize they are great drummers too. My personal favorite and drumming inspiration, Russ Kunkel, is no chops master compared to Weckl or Colaiuta, never the less, he's widely considered one of the best, most recorded drummers. One style is no better than the other.

  • And I'm not the only unmystified either. Some guys that have been around know that Steve Gadd is a prolific funky mor drummer yes but a technician, a teacher of chops a true jazz musician a big band swing drummer a true rock player ? No and never was or will be. Go back to studio Mr gadd. That's your home. Play your little steely dan nothing parts in perfect click track time w/your mediocre suckin in the seventy's la studio sound forever. But it ain't jazz or impressive

  • dude, ur a fag

  • cesar.. if you knuckleheads would quit writing your 21 year old don't know shit can't play bubblegumrock even yet modern drummer trash spewing shit for brains won't study the true greats and just want to be in the muzak status quo. I promise to never come back to this paper machete of grandiosity worship site. when i come to write you clowns and I probably will if you jerks keep trying to put me down. By the way dumbass the world is far from fine try reading a newspaper instead of MD

  • Haha seems like Mr Noob is everywhere, bashing Steve Gadd on every possible channel. You do sound like a very bitter soul u realise? You should really get your ass on the stool and practise harder. Maybe then you'll be able to reach a fraction of Gadd's level if you're lucky

  • to rottenhoof...Yeah I guess that's why it's Buddy Rich tony williams billy cobham joe morello philly jo papa jo sonny payne ian paice carl palmer for me. every one of them could play this b/s w/one hand either hand and still carry that so called godly groove you sind so elusive. non metronome plAYERS. hELL CAN'T PLAY WAY OUT OF PAPER BAG FALSE IDOLIZERS

  • calm down, everything is going to be all rigth, its not a big deal, the world is just fine, and the most important thing, nobody cares about your opinion, your opinion does not affect anybody, so stop commenting useless things, and if steve gadd achivementsa and succed affects you so much do a favor for you and stop watching his videos, YOU NEED ANGER MANAGEMENT

  • thanks alot "nudist0885" great help, finally got to see how it ended ... he's just such an awesome drummer, far ahead of the comersiallised drummers that we see today thanks again

  • Yeah he's got the same tired used up riffs over ND OVER AGAIN. always slow always unenergetic and he even gets tired after a couple minutes of snoozin'. I like messing w/this clown and you worshippers even more than Dennis Chambers .. You non players are fanatical. By the way some youtube non player nazis are slandering me saying I only bash. You need to get to the real drummer sites . That's where i say thank you. I don't false idolize. Maybe that's cause I can really play.

  • Just because you only like boomtacboomtacboomtacboomtac drummers, that doesn't mean you have to bash on Gadd (which I believe you are, my apologees if you're not).

Gadd is not unergetic and not slow, try recording what you play, setting it to 2x speed and it'll be about half as fast as Gadd can play. Metal drummers perhaps have to be fast, but jazz drummers have to play with feel and melody. Too bad those are things you can't appreciate.

  • I have yet to hear one....one... drummer with the ability to play in front and behind the pulse intentionally who talks bad about Gadd.

  • he is very boring

  • yea, i'm gonna have to agree with you. but it doesn't matter. he's a fucking beast. and that's that. just because he's boring doesn't mean he's bad. he's so technical, and that's all that matters. just my 2 cents.

  • Hes not boring, not even close. You don't have the authority to say that.

If you knew anything about Gadd and his influence on drumming, you'd take back that poor choice of words.

Fucking kids today. You dont know what a good musician is.

  • YOU obviously don't know what an opinion is, I'm fucking sick of you internet Nazis who don't agree with anyone so you just bash everyone, the commenting option is there for people who want to to provide their input not to be assholes, In MY opinion I think Gadd is boring, I HATE Steely Dan, and if I were to name a drummer that has everything Gadd wishes he had would be Billy Cobham, I don't give a rats fucking ass if you don't agree with me, you're clearly a little bitch who's not worth my time

  • I'm sick of net Nazis too; especially the intolerable Y generation who are historically ignorant and require constant gratification.

Yeah Billy's great but he doesn't make Gadd any less a drummer. The problem with guys like you is that you value chops and speed over substance.

After a while the former becomes tedious.

Again; Gadd is an historically important drummer.

  • Ooooo see now you just generalized cobham's drumming the same way I did for Gadd's, the reason I like cobham is not just his speed and chops, but the man has fucking groove, another reason I like cobham is who he played with, cobham's repertoire of groups he's been affiliated are much more impressive/interesting than Gadd, sorry I don't have the same interest in music as most middle aged people (aren't generalizations great), sometimes I think Gadd just tries too hard

  • I don't care if you think he's boring, he revolutionized drumming and he's one of the best drummer of all times. You probably think travis barker is the best drummer

  • ouch, prejudice much?

  • don't try this at home

  • This is for "guythegreat321".....

Look at the video entitled "Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Gadd" by "petahx" here in youtube..............................................

or just search that title and the entire 9 minute solo will load up.

  • Sorry, My Bad, I'm a DORK

It's the beginning of the Chuck Mangione song "Legend Of The One Eyed SAILOR."

I don't know how I came up with "soldier" so someone please come over to NJ and give me a smack on the back of my head.

  • This is either the beginning of "Legend Of The One Eyed Soldier" by Chuck Mangione, or it's the beginning of "Hill Where The Lord Hides" by Chuck Mangione. I can't remember.

But it's Chuck Mangione for sure

  • Awesome solo does anyone have a video of the groove that he starts playing at the end of the crazy army intro ???

  • hey it's on the king of drummers video here on youtube. check it out. and i think what he plays after this little solo is a version of his mozambique riff he does.

  • i love his drum heads!!!

  • see travis barker would be too busy getting his autograph to notice one of steves other 5 arms about to destroy him completely and utterly

  • i really like the samba-feel beat after the crazy army solo

  • This Solos Part of a three-man jam, gadd plays together with Colaiuta and Weckl. Search these three and you'll get the whole 9 min Video, the all solo to this samba groove.

  • i know it's from the buddy rich tribute concert.. thanks anyway

  • Is that Jeff Porcaro in that video? Hes another phenomenol drummer too!

  • nah..that's Vinnie Colaiuta / oh yeah Jeff was Superb Drummer though.

  • I've been working on this for years, and I still can't play like Gadd! Fuckin' incredible!

  • Really ? I've been working on this for the last hour and a half and it sounds EXACTLY like Steve Gadd.

Of course I was asleep at the time

  • HA!! XD that just made my day, what you just said!

  • lol

but seriously it's not that hard.. i can almost play it well after 2 days of practising it. but stil have to read it from the sheet.

don't want to sound arrogant now

  • Fuck off.

  • me neither but I agree

I did some studio work in the late '90s in Nashville and a couple other places in Canada with David Leonard, one of his earliest gigs was engineering TOTO IV

  • that was in response therealTOTOfan

  • just listen to David plain' "Dante's Passion".. he's really good! and if he really work together with Toto engineering TOTO IV .. i can just bow to you lol.. i mean it.

  • lmao!!!dickkk alert!!!!!
