  • I used to watch this in the late 1960's as a little boy, while my grandmother slept in the other room. I remembered and loved the theme song by Cy Coleman and have recently added it my jazz itune list.

  • This was when being a lounge lizard was popular......

  • Netflix has a few episodes of "Playboy Penthouse", the earlier show, as well as "Playboy After Dark".

  • @shadowfax1920 - Hef was very interested in the hippies and what was going on. He had the Grateful Dead on the show, not just to play but he interviewed them.

  • I used to watch this in Chicago on Friday or Saturday nights. (can't remember which)

Makes me what to look up any listings of guests on the show and see if any were recorded by someone and videoed.

    Great post.

  • This stuff is gold

  • It use to be on UHF in the San Francisco Bay Area...

  • Cy Coleman wrote the theme for this show I believe, although this is a later arrangement of it. The original '59/'60 version was much better.

  • @DreamsCumTrue469 I've heard a '70s disco, a comtemporary jazz, a cool jazz, and a big band version when I used to subscribe to what used to be known as The Playboy Channel. All sounded cool.

  • Really great theme song, I loved this show

  • Always liked the theme song.
