Congratulations to Mark and Kevin!

Love is certainly one of the best reasons to come out and is something that no one should ever be ashamed of or treat like a "dirty" secret.

It must be so depressing to be closeted for the sake of your career.

And the worst thing is that you cannot even just remain silent about your romantic / personal life, because that seems to confirm the "truth" in the minds of many of the public.

Examples: Matt Bomer and Zachary Quinto.

So you have to create a heterosexual life of lies for the public and treat your "real" life like it is a tawdry affair!

@Feehilycare When asked about engagement? He says "Yeah on the 28th of January on our 5th anniversary"

How did you meet Kevin? " I actually met him.......tonight is.......that's a terrible picture! Tonight was Childline but Childline used to be on on a different time of year. He(Kevin) used to be in a boyband called V. They were also performing on Childline, and we met in Lillies after the show. Lillies Bordello just a nightclub."

@dearmud1 "So, it was by no means in any way negative, it was all positive for me. You know I think it was getting to that point that was the more difficult part".

So it was the not being able to come out? Or not having the comfort in yourself to? "Well not not being able to, because the choice was there. I think at certain times I was probably my own worst enemy, and I think that I was........the biggest mountain to climb was in my own head".

Have you set a date? Was it a very romantic proposal the whole thing or was it very casual? "It was very us which is quite romantic, but quite casual also, you know. We haven't set a date yet. I think you know....we're kind of........well everyone's know asking us come on when is it going to be, we're nearly a year into our engagement now. We're kind of brainstorming and getting excited about different ideas and stuff like that, but we haven't really set a date as such, no.

@dearmud1 And that was the bit where I kind of went do you know what I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is positive and nothing else, and that was probably the last step in the process to kind of getting where I really needed to be to come out. And it took a long time, and you know in some ways I wish it didn't, but I learnt a lot along the way and I think....I'm thirty now and I'm happier then I've ever been in life".

@dearmud1 You seem very comfortable in your skin, you seem very happy. Is that a fair assessment? "I'm more comfortable and more confident than I've ever been without a doubt. I think it doesn't really suit me to not be open and happy and honest about everything, and it didn't ever really suit me. I think I was very nervous and quite anxious. You get into  Westlife and it becomes a big boyband and all of a sudden there's even more attention on you than ever, when kind of the last thing you...

@dearmud1 ....kind of need almost, in certain areas..is attention. So yeah, it was definitely tough at timesjust because I knew everyone..all eyes were on me in certain ways. And you know, people talk and gossip and stuff like that. But the thing that is most important is I'm here now, I'm thirty years old, I'm happy as larry, engaged, and I kind of came out of it on the good side".

Wow I think he talked more in this interview, than all the rest of his interviews put together! Go Marky!

@Feehilycare When you came out you did so extremely publicly. Was it torture for you? or was it a pain in the neck? "Was which torture actually coming out itself? I think the lead up to coming out and the kind of years of getting to that place was...I don't think...well at certain times more torturous than the act of actually coming out itself. The coming out itself was......I mean, just a massive release, a massive weight off my shoulders, and to be honest the best thing I've done in my life".

@Feehilycare Why was that? "I think probably because a lot of the time people care a little bit too much of what other people think of them. What would they say, and what would they think, and stuff like that. And I think that it wasn't until I actually....to be honest until I kind of fell in love with Kevin and realised that........that was the kind of part where I was like how could anyone find something wrong with this this is true love, you know.
