  • Amazing speecher!!!! I love his way of turning people vegans! ♥

  • The only thing he can talk about is his own idea, his own philosophy.

For the rest of the usual arguments you hear coming from this side well they are mostly proven wrong by scientific evidence.

Now I wonder why they never talk about the millions wild rats and lice that are killed either when there food is harvested or the ones who are killed and tortured to keep humans disease free and stop them eating our food.

Why does this movement always have 2 faces and 2 ways of acting towards animals?

  • Wow, the people still wandering on in a quarter of the way through the speech are annoying the heck out of me, so disrespectful. Please get a watch people!

  • GARY gets LOTS of Kudos as he should, but I want to empower YOU! If you like his talks then u must want to do it too? YOU can, but better??? U can reach 1000's more (rather than a small class), no need for permission+NO public speaking skills! Just hand out educational, factual, interesting booklets: AdoptaCollege dotorg by Vegan Outreach (FYI I saw Gary speak @ University of FL, it was great, but 45,000 students only reached ~60! I gave out 2,500 booklets that day) so you can NOW!

  • When the premises used t support an argument the conclusion also is false. Gary's first premise "thou shalt not kill" is false. It does not need an astrix. The original Hebrew is "Ratsach" which literally means "man slayer" (that's species specific). In modern English we would use the legal term "murder". Slavery is also a term that applies specifically to people. Both the English word and the concept for the last 8000 years has applied to people. Therefore his conclusions are false

  • He came into my school and is really good. He makes a good point and now I have gone vegan. He is amazing and truly life-changing.

  • 2) but just wanted to say; THANK YOU for fighting this important fight, and you inspired me to do something more than just being vegan!

  • wow Gary, you must have had some critisism for saying the Bible is nothing but ink and paper. I totally support everything you say, and actually downloaded your speech so i can show even more people, and have been vegan myself for over 2 years now ( vegetarian since little, cuz i stayed that kid who just couldnt eat her friends), and everytime people come at me with; the bible says its okay to eat meat, i say; "its just a book, please just use common sense ", all hell breaks loose!

  • @jimyjones1985: Where's the EVIDENCE for plant consciousness and feeling? Maybe you should visit the ADAPTT website, click "All About Veganism," and click the link labeled "Killing Plants."

  • Hehe Hahahaha. Oh dear lord he turns fear mongering into an art form. I stand before you as a proud meat eater. Quite tasty you should try it some time. Now then its an animal it acts on instincts. Also he links the holocaust to meat eating? Dear goodness thats a hell of a stretch but bravo. You've fear mongered people into this insanity, my my you are an artist Gary. Where is your proof? Human's have subsisted on animal flesh for centuries, its a staple of our diet. Welcome to reality.

  • you rock sooooo much!

    go vegan now!!!!!

  • Gary you are the Best!!!! ONE LOVE 4ever

  • Everything people need to hear!

    :)

  • Great speech, how it gets some thinking.

  • Great presentation Mr. Yourofsky, makes a ton of sense. But Jeez can't the GA Tech students arrive ON TIME TO CLASS!!!???? idiots!

  • Kudos to Gary for his eloquent presentation!

  • I totally support you slavery is not exclusive to humans... but, I need to know, how do we justify that no religion calls for slaughtering ... what about Islam, the big feast... millions of cattle are dragged and slaughtered?

  • 4:54-damn, that's some serious nightmare fuel. But he's right, people get pissed off about all the wrong things. I wish everyone would take a trip to their nearest farm animal sanctuary, and realize that pigs, cattle, chickens, and turkeys are just like their cat curled up next to them on the couch, or their dog that sleeps at the foot of their bed.

  • its really retarted did you guys know he has a diffrent bible other than the Christian one

  • He came to my school today!!!

    To me...eveything is true.

He also said we werent meant to eat meat, when we do it makes our blood acidic and we need calcium to neutralize it...our bodies get the calcium from our bones.

Oh and he said eggs are the periods of chickens. GROSS!

  • Thank you brave and wonderful professor for this very accurate and truthful message...

This I know is oh so true.

  • @MontanaVegan , Hi Montana, I agree completely...This just has to end...

  • Life feeds off life. Does one not feel sad when a 200 year-old tree is cut down? Cheetahs are always going to eat gazelles (at least until they finally go extinct). It all makes me feel bad, but that's the way it is. I think the real choice is to be responsible about the food one eats.

  • "Life feeds off life." Granted! But don't you think there's a distinction to be made between life that is unconscious, unfeeling, and never inclined to protect itself on the one hand; and life that conscious, sentient, feeling, wary of predators, protective of its offspring, on the other? This is precisely why vegans choose to eat only the former, while protecting the latter. Yes, the real choice IS to be responsible about the food one eats, which is exactly why veganism is morally imperative!

  • Comment removed

  • If life feeds off life, then some death has a point. Everything dies. If death causes suffering then some suffering is unavoidable. These values don't exclude meat. Beached whales or an apple tree that was struck by lightning, for example, suffer nothing from being eaten. Both died of natural causes. Now they will simply rot and waste away. Being a vegan is a great choice, but it is by no means morally imperative from what you or the speaker have given in the arguments.

  • @xgbdesign plants are conscious and feeling. this has been proven many times before.

  • "Cheetahs are always going to eat gazelles..." Again, granted! But do you really want to reduce yourself to the moral equivalent of a cheetah? Cheetahs are natural carnivores; they have no moral inclination enabling them to "decide" not to eat a gazelle. As I pointed out to another poster, we humans do not have that luxury. We bear the burdens of being morally responsible for our actions. There's simply no point in causing needless suffering and death for no morally compelling reason.

  • @cptmc - Do you REALLY mean it makes you "feel bad"? Because honestly, the eating of animals - The killing of animals - is totally unnecessary for humans. You see the cheetah cannot make other choices - First his body absolutely requires "flesh" to live and secondly, he doesn't live 5 minutes away from a superstore filled with thousands of plant based choices! This is the way we evolve --- Yes, it's sad for trees too and I wouldn't destroy them either unless it was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY...

  • @beaelliott If something dies then I feel bad. Maybe it's more accurate to say that I feel sad, but I think feeling sad is bad. So my answer is yes. Did I misunderstand your question?

  • Excellent speech!!

I would like to see a video of the rest of teh speech is possible, but thank you for posting what you have there.

  • I love you :D come to the UK ! <3

  • love this speech! great to see someone else bring up the very points i have brought up in the past.

  • Gary has a wonderfully creative, playful and artistic instinct with his presentations that is sorely lacking elsewhere in the animal rights and veg movements. I only wish the "leaders" were paying attention to how Gary does it. You don't have to agree 100% with what he says, but you have to admit his passion is infectious and admirable.

Come on Gary, let's get a full speech up on YouTube!

  • I am 100 percent agreeing what he said there I think the exact same way.

I live in Holland where saying something like Holocaust of animals raises uproar because it is considered that the word Holocaust is solely to be used on the killing of jews in the second WW.

The word Holocaust is Greek for Burnt Whole and we can use it on any crime against any species.

  • My number one question is this:

I did metabolic type diet last year. Felt very good.

    Im a vegan now.

    Also feel very good.

    Question:

Are the genes im turing on by being a vegan more positive + advancing than the ones Im turing on being a protien type eater of meat and fat primarily?

  • Yes! Compassion via veganism is the only way to have positive genes. When animals are raised as slaves, mutilated, de-horned, de-beaked, castrated, and ripped away from their mothers, they experience nothing but negative energy. When they are shipped to slaughter, then dismembered and murdered, they experience nothing except fear and pain. When people eat flesh, all this negativity enters their bodies. It is impossible to have any positive genes when consuming someone else's corpse. Gary Y.

  • Id rather eat plants that have eaten small microbes than participate in such an unnatural cycle as what humans do.

Vibes from food is something ive been tuning into. thanks for the incouragement!

  • Passing blood/flesh past gums is satanic & barbaric, think progressive/new NOT 'medieval-midevil'

Animal say: I no harm you

THEN BITE THAT COW RAW & PROVE U CAN DIGEST EVERY PIECE

Imagine if I stole YOUR LADY'S BREAST MILK

If u DONT want 2b owned, enslaved or treat-dead as a property-product then plz DONT do that to US ANIMALS; because, chances R, that BIG LORD won't listen 2 your criminal defense & THEN WHO WILL BE VOICELESS!?

WE ARE ALL, PLANET-ANIMALS-PEOPLE THE OPPOSITE OF VOICELESS listen

  • I wish he could speak to every person in the country. Bravo!

  • Powerful! Sensible! Please post more segments!

  • I saw him in Ctr Florida - My worst regret was not filming him! He's an incredible voice for reason and veganism. I'm definately attending his presentation again - with camera :)

  • hope you will have the rest of this talk available on youtube. it's excellent. thanks.

  • I love him. Gary is the best.

However...patriotism? o.0 that's part of the reason animals are murdered by the billions in this country. Patriotism= love of capitalism (corperatism) and that = mass production of murder for money.
