  • That was over the top and ridiculous.

  • BARROWMAN!!! *shakes fist*

  • I'm guessing that John started acting like a monkey, because he wasn't getting enough attention.

  • HE Was so overly excited.. and inapporpriate.. I mean who did he think he was Harvey Korman

  • Imaginary punch in the face for John at 2:46 :')

  • He does the Captain Jack salute!

  • I love John's reaction!

    He's adorable

  • I HATE when people do the laughs like how he did at 2:28

  • This is actually a demonstration of Carol's incredible talent as a comedianne (sp?). Being able to turn a disaster into a joke is a rare skill, and then to go on with the show are characteristics of an amazing professional.

  • if you look reall closely at 2:00, you can see Carole gesture at John about it! It's just so funny!

  • I think any other night theyd carry on but that night was being filmed and when filming a show its usual pratice to do something again because if the skirt had fell producers would have stopped the show ever way cause they dont wanna be sending a out a porno:) x

  • Oh that is priceless!!!

  • I cannot get over this, its hilarious! I love the cast here, epecially George Hearn.

  • This is the stuff i LOVE. SOOOO Carol Burnett.

  • If I had been there, hell just that moment would had been worth the freaking money! Love Johns reaction!

  • LOVED it and LOVE her!!

  • I am so sorry to say this, but this was a really unprofessional reaction. When something like this happens, you need to just go on, fix it if you can, but you need to act like it is all planned out, you know? I think this is really funny but...I mean, these people pyed a ton of money.

But, I mean, this is sooooo funny thought :-)

  • I think it's funnier that Carol pointed it out rather than make it seem like it was all planned. I mean - who would plan *that*?

  • Also, it would have completely detracted from the overall performance if she had let her skirt fall down - in the middle of the song! I agree, in any normal production, she should've waited it out. But, there was choreography which would have made her skirt fall down sooner and would have possibly stopped the performance anyway.

  • @MaryBridget12 And I don't think the audience would have been upset about it - I'd have been right made up if that had happened in a show I have paid to see - it makes it memorable, different. I also would have been so happy to be seeing such a bunch of legends that really, I wouldn't care. And Barrowman was completely in character, I'm sure he's always like that.

  • They put the spotlight on Carol when her pants fall down! XD

  • dude ... the guy with the red shirt wuz flippin out

    lol but otherwise, very funny!!!!!!

  • which one's the gay one... 3 guesses. the first two don't count.

  • @TiTiKoge Which one's the gay one? That would be the hot one. (Though Ruthie's hot, too.)

  • bless

  • That's hilarious!!!

  • I don;t know this show or the cast, but I have to say that guys reaction was just stupid. Reminded me of Tom Cruise on Oprah. But it was pretty funny!

  • Ha....That was hilarious! John's reaction was perhaps a tad over the top but so so so funny!

  • John is such a big kid at heart; so I think his reaction was just about on par with how he acts.

  • OMG Ruthie Is So Funny Saying 'He Spit His Pants' She's English!!!! Carol's Skirt Was Soo Funny

  • What's being english got to do with it :S xx

  • english say trousers not pants

i would know i am one

  • Im not sure what's funnier, the dress falling or John Barrowman's reaction.

  • OMG is the guy who said "please tell me you got that on tape?" Captain Jack from Doctor Who!?!? I LOVE HIM! <3

  • Yeah, that's John Barrowman.

  • @Emilyrulezwithaz He was great in Dr. Who.

  • @Emilyrulezwithaz yep that's him alright!!!!!

    John Barrowman is amazing!

  • bahahahaah!

  • Absolutley hilarious!! In the beginning, isn't that " You can drive a person crazy" from Stephen Sodheim's "Company"?

  • Yes it is! That song is in this show!

  • yes

  • This is why I love live theatre. You never know what might happen!

  • The most hilarious part of this: Ruthie screaming "'E SPLIT 'IS PANTS!"

  • That was adorable.

  • LOL, I was laughing so hard, now my stomach hurts.... haha~

  • I love how, if you watch carefully, you can see her skirt getting longer as the dance goes on, and you can see her start to move around less and less and she realizes what's happening!

  • Thanks for posting this, PalisDelon. . .

I just finished John Barrowman's book "Anything Goes" and he talks about this particular incident. . .

. . .I come on YouTube and here it is!

    Muchas Gracias!

  • hahahahaha

    john went crazy

    i love him

  • george hearn has such an infectious laugh.... barrowman is CRAZY... and pinchot is just like "WTF?"

nothing like live theatre, eh? god knows how many times ive been onstage with my fly down.

  • Do you have the part where he split his pants?

  • OMFG! I almost had a heart attack god almighty! Funnyfunnyfunnyfunnyfunnyfunnystuff!

  • Carol Burnett - you're a doll! And darling John Barrowman - such a big kid.

Reckon the exuberant response by John was genuine. What a show Putting it together must have been!

  • Lol, I love the guy on the far left. He's like O_O O...M...G!!!

  • Hahahaha!

I'm laughing so hard that I'm crying!!

  • Oh my goodness!! That was hilarious!! It made my LIFE!!

    Only Carol Burnett...

  • Carol, Carol, Carol! Haha

I laughed out even harder seing John's reaction.

  • If you watch again you can see her hemline getting lower as the song goes on.

  • Did she actually lose her skirt, or did she pull them down? It just seemed very planned; she didn't appear to be losing her skirt.

  • Maybe she planned it because that guy next to her just fell down laughing at her! I fell down too! I LOVE Carol Burnett she's great!

  • what theatre is this at?

  • The Barrymore Theatre on 47th St.

  • i love that john goes hysterical and the fact that ruthie sounds relly british when she says he ripped his pants! soooo funny

  • what does that have to do with anything???

    lol

  • OMG I DIDNT MEAN THAT COMMENT TO SOUND MEAN AT ALL!

Like if anyone thought I was being homophobic I wasn't!I'm the least homophobic person you'll ever meet!

  • John really overreacts, doesn't he?

  • I know it's an opinion....but I think John is an amazing actor!Have you ever seen him in Doctor Who?He certainly doesn't overact in that!

  • i LOVe him in torchwood

  • That just seems to be the way he is as a person - if he finds something hilarious, he'll make sure to show it to everyone. It can be a bit strange, but I really like it. To me it always seems he's a kind of "What you see is what you get"-person, which I love.

  • What's that music called during the beginning of the video? anyone know?

  • You Can Drive a Person Crazy from Company--great show

  • My god, that was funny!

John reminded me of my six year old cousin just now....he's so adorable when he's breaking his shit laughing!

  • Okay, maybe the "Jackass" comment was un-called-for given his talents and accomplishments. I withdraw that portion of my comment. But after ATTEMPTING to watch the clip again, I still maintain that his unbearable overreacting killed it. When he started to roll around on the floor in convulsions he almost made me lose my lunch... again. Opinions vary, but I respect your comment. :-)

  • hahaha!!! go ruthie!! HE SPLIT HIS PANTS!!

  • aa427427

that "over acting jackass" as yuu called him is john barrowman!

gawd no yuur stuff hes one of tha most talented ppl ever!

and if anything he made the blooper MORE funny! gees

  • What a pleasant surprise to hear from you. Please see my comment below.

  • This is the best thing i've seen in...my life.

John Barrowman was hysterical! And how Ruthie Henshall started dancing, and then yelling 'HE SPLIT HIS PANTS'.

  • This is soooo funny i was laughin at John Barrowman and Ruthie Henshall n i no Ruthie is English i no her lolz.

  • BCraingirl, Ruthie Henshall is English, she was born in Bromley

  • This is priceless. What a line-up of real talent. Carol is a real trooper.

And I love John reverting to the child within. as he breaks up. That's JB!

Just catch some of his cheeky, chat show appearances on Youtube. He's a big kid living in a kind and handsome man's body.

Scott appears to have won the jackpot, and hopefully it's vice versa.Well 15 years or so together speaks volumes (to me anyway.)

  • If you remember, Carol Burnett was also involved in another classic blooper with Tim Conway back in the 1970's. I believe it was the Siamese elephant joke in the Carol Burnett Show.

  • Pahaha! Amazing. Thanks for posting, you can't get the DVD on Region 2 (BOO!)

  • no, the other lady is Ruthie Henshall.

and WOW!! that is such a Carol thing :)

  • how embarrassing that must have been for her....lol

  • I love Carol! And that other girl looked so much like Parker Posey, but she's not English so I guess not, lol.

  • this is sooo cool. john barrowman is like a big kid,but i love him for it. great show and song

  • HAHA! God I love George Hearn!!

  • I'm so pleased to see this! I was there at the matinee, and I've wished ever since that there was some way to find this video.

  • OMG! TOO funny! Carol Burnett is the best. :-)

  • Whoops! I got to get this DVD.

  • Is this St. James Theatre where "The Producers" is currently playing?

  • no, it played at the Barrymore

  • Wow they're really trained for situations like this one, poor woman.

  • o my fucking gosh!

  • Jeesh i love him so much XDDDDDD He's so funny XDDD He's a little crazy... And split his pants in the first act.

  • John Barrowman's reaction actually reminded me of Tom Cruise's little incident with Oprah. It was scary.

  • Hahaha :D that was funny :D:D Awsome! Carol Burnett is so cool!

  • who's the monkey ?

  • hahaha so funny! OTT much John bless his heart. And aww Ruthie 'he split his pants' isnt she sweet lol

  • Can you post other numbers from the show?

Bang, Marry Me a Little, There's Always a Woman, and Everybody Ought to Have a Maid would be excellent choices. (I can't get a hold of a couple of the DVD myself otherwise I would have put them up.)

  • That is so funny!! God I love Carol Burnett!!! hahaha

  • Thanks for that one. Very, very funny. I'm still laughing pretty hard :-)

  • He dose go a little overboard, doesn't he? :)

  • @PalisDelon he probably went over board because his butt was covered in duct tape for the first ACT

  • This was wonderfully hilarious. I'm still laughing. John really got mad over that! *lol*

  • That was freaking brilliant! Loved it!

  • ha ha. v funny
