My Owen's timeline
2001: he is engaged with Beth, he is an intern and he enlist ... Like Gerge
2004: he send a 2 line email to Beth ... in episode 5x12 Owen says the last date was five years ago
2009: he Kiss Cristina =)

I like this timeline of course as far as order goes. However, when Owen said when his last date was he said, "I haven't been on a date in five years... since before I entered the military." Also he kissed Cristina in 2008. So if he was in the military for five years then he joined in 2003. Beth's Dad said he didn't even think about it after September 11th... So why would he have waited two years? Maybe part of the reason this scene got cut is because it has a screwy timeline.

Ops! I didn't remember the "since before I entered the military" part #^.^#
maybe Owen waited to become a general surgeon before enlist and he became a trauma surgeon during military service O.o =P

Yeah maybe he wanted to finish some things up training wise before he joined up.
BTW, Beth's Dad is a real douche in this. "You all better watch out," is over doing it a bit. All Owen did in this episode was encourage the guy to be honest w/ Beth about his illness and wait for her to leave before he came in the first time (and who could blame him for that?) Even with dumping Beth by e-mail, it's hardly enough for him to go around telling Owen's co-workes that he's not right and watch out.

the show timeline is not 2009 it's 2007.
Remember the episode with the stolen heart guy Denny happend in 2006.
Season 3 & 4 was 1 year combined

I would hope he was not with Beth when he kissed Cristina. I think we all want to believe that. It would seem out of character to me for Owen to cheat on anyone, but I don't think that what the PO's father says necessarily confirms that. He could be glad that Owen left her at any point. Also I don't think Owen would have dumped her by e-mail BEFORE he left the country, from Iraq it makes more sense. I do hope it was before the kiss but I don't think they will ever go back and say for sure.
