so im new to the "who" world, but is it like that tom baker and david tennant were agreed as 2 of the best doctors or something and colin baker was the worst? im so confused somebody respond!

He looks and feels right - looks like the skeleton of an old man in young skin - there's a flash of Davidson in the face, some McCoy in the lips and hands, Baker behind the eyes - the Ecclestone Doctor was the soldier body he needed to fight the Time War, Tennent was the wizard-statesman needed post-war - now here is the adolescent-to-twenty-something at play in the fields of the Time Lords.

All these doctors keep getting younger and younger. After Matt, well be looking at a 13 year old kid!. So far, I don't like his look - looks too, eh, 'queer', and not man enough. Eccleston was kind of a mix between a tougher doctor, and a James Bond.

As fantastic s David Tennant has been (I'll be crying when he goes!!), and he has said this himself the show ran for many many years before he took over, and will run for many years after it, we haven't seen Matt in the role yet so he deserves the opportunity David had to prove himself (who came in after Christopher Eccleston, who was, in my opinion, also very good).

Just because Matt is young doesn't mean he won't deliver a first class performance.

I'm very excited to see his take on it.

He's young. He may do a good job as an actor, but from a character standpoint, would the doctor ever regenerate at different 'ages'? I mean if he can regenerate to look this young is he going to pop out as a 5 year old child at some point? can he control it? I know I know timelord years are different get the point I'm trying to make. There has to be a standard. I have a hard time buying into him regenerating at any random 'age.' Plus, I'll really really miss tennant :'( I cried :'(

Didn't you see Doctor 1 go to Doctor 2? or maybe it was 2 to 3, but one of those he went from an old man to a much younger one...

I like the idea of someone younger taking on the role. It gives me the feeling that 12 is gonna be grandpa-aged.

He's certainly intriguing. Looks like he might dress more like Eccleston which would be a little bizarre. I'm curious what kind of Companions he'll have. Wonder if anyone warned him about the Kissing John Barrowman clause? LOL!

here we go again, now that twilight been released everyone who has a passing resemblence to robert patterson is now is derivative or a rip off. The producers and stephen moffat obviously wanted to go in a different direction, it may be risky but it could pay off we will have to see. But what i hate is people going on about how this show is trying to be like twilight because it has a young actor in the lead role. Same thing with daniel craig, afraid of change quit whining.

Well we all know that Tom Baker did a fantastic job so maybe this guy will too. People always have a certain Doctor they like best

Hrmm, I wonder how long it will take him to come into his own. It may be a serial or two before we can fulling appreciate what he brings to the franchize without pangs of abandonment from Tenant.
