Forget the static adapter. There's grain to consider andthe static won't help you with that. The adapters make video look a whole lot better. Try making one, but at least it should vibrate. Good luck.
I've been studying DOF adapters for a few days. I can't decide if I should invest in one, build one, go static or what... I just bought an HV30 by Canon. I am trying to get as close to film quality as I can without a large investment.
The mike that I suggest is the Sennheiser ME66K6, but it should be used with the Beachtek audio adapter to allow you to use XLR connectors. If you find this too expensive than the Azden series like the SGM1000 look for them at B&H photo.
hi, am making a short film next month and was have just purchased the hv20. what mic do you suggest i use please. there's alot of outside filming. thankyou
This was compresssed right from Final cut Pro,quicktime for broadband, but since I did it the first time I have not been able to maintain that quality, and don't know why.
Whoa!!!! GENIOUS!! This took a few watchings before some of us here "got it". Notice the allusions the director is subtly making. Screws, batteries, cat. Sure, I thought it was random too. But look again! Notice the socio-economic and political statements he is masterfully making! Did you catch the Bush reference? And the bit at the end....as if I really need to explain that one?
This is a masterpiece, masquerading as a "test", ha! How humble yet otherworldly this director is.

Impressive. This is a good example of this adapter's DOF capabilities. Nice Job W. V.
