Awsome! Great job on the vid. You say it is based on the novel but the novel is very different from the musical and this is the story of the musical. But the vid is amazing! I really think this is the best trailer ever of wicked! It almost lookes really like (if thee was one) the real trailer.

@Terresa101 I actually read somewhere that Universal is trying to get the rites and the set date id like 2016 or something like that, it was like a few months ago when I read that. But I am working on my fourth wicked trailer tonight and I am going to post it tomorrow so go to my page and watch if you get a chance.

Disney are soft with dark contexts, but they made Pirates of the Caribbean and that was dark for a Disney film! So was the Black Cauldron but that's not fondly remembered.

I don't mind if Disney has a go at making it but they should NOT screw it up because Universal is on the other side!

According to wikipedia, they are starting to move towards the movie, and Marc Platt is eager to start. They're following what what's-her-face did with "Mamma Mia" And making a movie after wicked is at it's peak of fame. I think that's what they did for "Hairspray, "Rent" and "Phantom", and all 1985Nebraska mentioned...

the reason it hasn't been made into a movie is that some scenes would be too hard to convert to movie form as well as the fact that it will lose the magic. Also, making a prequel/sequel to a classic, as well as the first technocolor movie ever, won't be supported by many people and usually ends with bad reviews therefore less money. Plus no director would go near the project in case they lose their career over this. I am a director at Universal and we have discussed making wicked a movie.

The Broadway musical of Wicked needs to be made into a movie. If The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Rent, Chicago, and a new version of Mel Brooks' The Producers were made into movies, then why not Wicked?
