Thank you very much, but for me it works in any dungeon with any enemy that follows you to the entrance, no need vampires or imperial dungeon at all. Thanks a lot this is just what I was looking for.
@recoveryprankcalls No since it's a bug to get the music working like this... there is no real control over it. It's just by pure luck that it works so perfectly in removing battle music seemlessly.
damn! I did this, worked pretty well... after a week or so i came back to the sewers to do the thieves quest, was still ok, then after i moved to shivering isles and done the first dungeon, as soon as i walked out of there, i started to get the fading music thing as shown in the beginning and it is very, very annoying. Any simple fight and the music restarts, it takes the fun out of the game =/
is there a way to fix this again? i don't have the "battle" folder any more.
Normally, I do get everything normally since I hardly ever use quick travel. But since this was a test character to speed up showing the bug, I used the "TMM" command in the console. "TMM 1" TMM stands for ToggleMapMarkers.
Well there was once a band called Linkin PArk and everyone thought putting their songs onto a video equalled BAD ASSNESS. This is why we go realistic and either delete our music or dress up like he Dark Knight download the soundtrack and beat the crap out of every villian with our fists.
Thanks a million for this tutorial, Murulo!!!! I had that annoying "restarting music" issue, and since I'm kinda slow, I didn't really get it at first, but you're video made it all crystal clear! Thank you!!!!
Without deleting the battle folder? I actually like this bug in Oblivion though.
I guess it makes sense that it's in Fallout 3 due to it being the same engine. Strange that it doesn't require the deletion though... it seems like they tried to make the battle music a little more dynamic in when it starts due to 'pereception' and all that... Guess this bug throws a spanner in the works.
It might have to do with the Pip Boy Radio being uninterruptable. WHen you turn it on, the Explore, Public, and battle music is disabled. When I turned it off and got into a fight, it was as though it was treating the explore music like the radio station.
Ah yea, that makes sense with the radio music. It seems to be some variant of the bug found in Oblivion.
The Oblivion bug is permanent once activated. Although the music will work as it always did if you decide to restore the Battle Music folder, deleting it again after that won't require a 'reactivation'. Which is sort of a good thing, since I doubt anyone enjoys listening to an ever restarting track.
Too bad there isn't a utility that lets the battle music play to completion before returning to the explore music.(like Morrowind's FPS Optimizer)(as far as I know)
There seems to be only mods out there trying to do the opposite, like this bug, which seems funny... a bug gets it perfect while many mods struggle.
You might want to check out 'Enhanced Music Control', I've not read into it too much but at least that allows the battle music to pick up where it last stopped. 'Immersive Music' and 'Musical Immersion' may be worth a look at too.
That's not really a problem. Just go to .../Oblivion/Data/Music and create a folder called 'Battle'. And put ANY .mp3 in there that you like. It doesn't matter what music plays to do this.
Nevermind, I thought you said to start with that only the battle music is deleted. If you're missing ALL of the music go to tesnexus in the link in my description and search for 'Official Oblivion Music'. You can re-download all the standard oblivion tracks there.

Oh and when the explore track ended, I think the battle music was enabled again, but usually the fight is over.

My Oblivion music got deleted and I can't figure out how to get it back. So unfortunately I can't use this. :(
ICEbweaka9 3 years ago
That's not really a problem. Just go to .../Oblivion/Data/Music and create a folder called 'Battle'. And put ANY .mp3 in there that you like. It doesn't matter what music plays to do this.
Murulo 3 years ago
Thanks.
ICEbweaka9 3 years ago
How do you get it to play though because I did that but I don't know how to play the music.
ICEbweaka9 3 years ago
Huh, sorry, I don't get what the problem is. Music played is dependant on which folder it is in...
/Oblivion/Data/Music/Explore for outside in the wilderness.
/Oblivion/Data/Music/Dungeon for dungeons and caves.
/Oblivion/Data/Music/Public for cities.
/Oblivion/Data/Music/Battle for fights.
You can ONLY use mp3s I believe.

I've tested this on 3 new characters and it seems to always work... so I hope it's not just something with my version of the game. :P
