  • just like to say my cat max loves this :) could he work out where they flew to !!!!!!

  • Super bird footage ~ I'm using a Canon IS S5 too... but your video looks clearer than my uploaded You Tube videos, Is it how you have edited them ?

  • I don't know how you edit yours!

I only used the Windows Moviemaker, running the Vista version. When I saved the file I chose the highest setting that still allowed me a filesize I could upload.

Being the longest clip I've done on Youtube so far, it became a big file, and it was a bit of a aqueeze.

Usually I choose 'save for play on my computer' - then choose the quality suited for DVD, if I recall correctly. (720 pixels high?) Hope that helps.

  • Thank you Nature Head... I think you are right and it might be to do with the pixels, I've had the Canon S5 so long I forgot that I could set pixels on the camera from the 320(30fps) to 640(30fps) I'm not sure what the 640(LP) means as I've no longer got the canon booklet... but I think I'm going to experiment with the 4 pixel settings on the Canon and see which comes out best for You Tube uploading and quality...

    Thanks again ~ Simon :-)

  • Not a camcorder - a Canon powershot s5 is. Quality due more to the lens than the 640pixels-wide image recorded.

Pretty impressive 12x optical zoom, stereo sound, auto-focus (manual override fiddly). The sensor and processor do a good job at imagery, but I don't think it's particularly great for stills.

The macro + super macro facility (zero cm) is outstanding. As you see, it's a versatile camera. All you need's a big memory card + good batteries 4 video recording.

  • Great video quaity, what camcorder are you using ?

  • Hi Joe,

I've added the labels now - good suggestion.

  • Really great quality video. The only suggestion I have is that you identify each species of bird in this video with text overlay. TY
