@Gaavcio its called "intuitive aptitude" but it also has a nasty side to that power ... the "Hunger" for knowledge and power ... and about the brains ... when someone activates his or her ability, their brains somehow rewires ... he studies that rewiring and manages to adapt his own brain to fit that power... and by his power of intuitive aptitude, he manages to understand and control the respective power even better than the one who originally owned it ...

there are very few people who actually stands a chance against sylar in a head on fight: The Haitan (deactivation of power), Hiro Nakamura (time-space manipulation), Parkman (telepathy) and Tracy (water manipulation, freezing).

Other heroes can defeat him but only when some external condition are applied: Peter (by recovering his old powers back or absorbing any of the powers previosly mentioned) and Samuel(only if there are dozens of other special people around). Still, his power is the coolest
