The fifties were a very depressing time 4 Brenda Lee. Elsie Wigle insisted that Brenda Lee was HER daughter. Jerry Lee Lewis disagreed as did his aboriginal mixed Jewish son, Bobby Darin.  Jerry Lee & John Barrymore said that Brenda was "his". John Barrymore wud lose to Elsie Wigle as did Sophia Tucker & Bobby Darin who took the case to another court every year. Elsie had Brenda ten months, Barrymore two with Jerry Lee insisting he married her under the name of Moira. I see Jerry Lee here

It is a ridiculous situation and not only for Brenda's stuff. Performances on UTube get pulled for copyright and yet are not available commercially either. So what is the point? In some cases, they didn't even have the foresight to preserve the original tape and it exists mainly by accident.

Thumbs, man...forget it. The guy was ridiculous. It just proves that equipment, technique, etc. are totally secondary. They guy had tone, chops, feel and swung like crazy...and played with his THUMB for God's sake! Jeez, I wish there were more videos of that man.

There was an absolutely fabulous video of thumbs with Roger Miller on an early morning TV show, where Thumbs walked in late, took off his coat and played incredible guitar behind Roger, straight off the cuff. Does anyone know where the clip is... it was on youtube until recently.
