Yes, Dax died about a year ago. He was owned by a friend. He was only about 8 years old. He went outside to use the bathroom and when she went to find him, he was dead. :(
My hubby always tells people that bassets birth on their backs, with the babies wrapped up in their ears. The pups pop out and spin themselves dry. Some even catch flight, according to him. Amazing how many people believe him.
I have a male basset named Droopy and a female named Pixie. They act like brother ans sister or father and daddy (Pixie was a gift Christmas of '06 and Droopy was received in like 1999)
