I had a 89 nissan maxima with exhaust and intake with the digital mph gauge. I had the car maxed out at 133, it would then fall to 130 then back up to 133 couldn't get it past 133. Pretty scary in the old nissan but fun.
I have the same car, nissan maxima 1989. I also pulled this off at i-5 going south around 3am just before reaching the mountains. no cars, no houses, no buildings, just desert. it was pretty cool. i ran around 130mph under 4000 rpm. lol
no its an se.. 89 se models came with the 125mph gauges and the vg engine..i think in 92, the se had a motor changed to ve30de and white faced 145mph gauges.. i still love vg its pretty quick.. especially with a stage three clutch
Um, is that thing stock? Either it's not or your speedometer is really inaccurate because my brother's '91 Maxima is considerably slower in comparison to yours
no we gps confirmed it. we dyno'd it has 124hp and 146tq at the wheels. 0-60 in 6.4s its not slow top speed 130mph.and it has 291,000miles on it runs like a champ
But is it STOCK? Do you have the VG30E or the VQ30DE and what about the transmission? Auto or manual? My brother's car has the VG with the 4-speed auto and his car pulls 0-60s in the 9's, if I remember correctly. But it'll push almost 140 mph.
The manual is CONSIDERABLY faster to 60 and to 100... Mine, by the end, has internal engine problems with around 320,000 miles, and I still timed 0-60 at 6.9 seconds. That was with a cold air intake and the aftermarket y-pipe (a must for any maxima owner by the way...)
