@luvtrails they cool and vent the battery , so without them the battery would not last very long, it would cook , and if the car ever has a battery explosion , they can and will , it will most likely save lots of engine sensors , and wiring , it is a pain to remove , but actually serves a purpose as much as I hate to say that lol
i think i want this car anymore lol it looks like a pain in the ass i think ill just buy another malibu my 97 easy but this has to be easier than a 09 i just like mazda sound system
I just bought a Mazda 3 and couldn't find the air filter. This video saved me, thanks. Hopefully I'll now get better gas mileage after replacing this filter.
@gavran88 you mean there is an air filter in here ...wheres the engine ? lmao , jokes aside , these cars are just tons of plastic covers , everything is covered up lol
You showed us witch way the air filter went in, but I have to say anyone that does not how the filter goes in this car would probably not find it anyway.
this is why i hate working on newer cars hell my truck is 29 years old and i could crawl under the hood, shit it and take a nap if i wanted to and its just a little beater s10.. and if i want to change the air filter i just undo the wing nut on the carb the old hard thing to get at it the oil filter. but i donteven want to begin to think were the oil filter on that car is...lol..
As mentioned before looks like a pain in the, but chrysler wins the prize with the in fender battery. What were engineers thinking?? Great tutorial and I knew something was gonna get thrown on the ground LOL.
That is a odd place and setup for the battery but it is a heck of alot better than the crazy in fender desine chrysler did.I would hate to own one of them you'd feel like you have to dissasemble half the vehicle just to get at the battery.I like simple open the hook undo the cables ,holdown and out.
@towrecker ya one time they tried to sell me a K&N sayin i needed it. i guess they were banking on me coming back with a plugged map sensor later on! told him to shove it where his no no stinks haha
Thank you=) My 2007 Mazda 3 will get her new air filter soon =)

I like the clips ones air filter better than the one with bolts. I have a 2005 Toyota Camry and it has bolts instead.
SolonicToyota1991 11 months ago
@SolonicToyota1991 they are a pain for sure
towrecker 11 months ago
@towrecker I know, when i take off all the bolts i still can't take out the filter. I have to loosen other parts of the intake.

I think that the idiots who design this crap should have to service it. I bet then designs would change drastically.
