"Identical twins have identical genes. If homosexuality was a biological condition produced inescapably by the genes (e.g. eye color), then if one identical twin was homosexual, in 100% of the cases his brother would be too...But as we saw above, if one is homosexual, the other is usually not."
wonderful story. you're brave to share all of that on here. i was depressed in school too for different reasons, & i think everyone coming together and baring the truth is so beautiful .... oh & on a side note great hair color!! lol
Thank you for your heartfelt video. It will help so many younger people. There are so many of us LGBTQ that are standing with each other out in the open now. Many Blessings to you in your life!
@STRUTTER777U It must suck having such a narrow-minded viewpoint like yours. I'd hate to be so shallow as to think that someone else's love-life should affect me so much. I guess it's great that I'm not like that. But hey, maybe you should make a video about how you think your life is hard because you're surrounded by this "homosexual lifestyle" you dislike so much. Then I can go comment on yours and remind you of an unpopular opinion that your "narrow-minded viewpoint" is a "lifestyle", too.
@BlakeWalker27 It must be that you are too narrow-minded to open your mind to the idea that homosexuality is dead wrong and it is THE #1 cause of the spread of HIV/AIDS in America according to CDC statistics. FYI: Homosexuality is not a "love life". Life is hard for people who engage in homosexual conduct. It is irrational and illogical to put yourself at risk by engaging in deviant homosexual conduct. Those who do have on average a shorter lifespan, a higher suicide rate, & are at risk of HIV.
@STRUTTER777U Whatever "statistics" you're getting your information is clearly false. HIV/AIDS is spread from unprotected sex from ANY sexuality, this includes straight people as well. "Life is hard for people who engage in homosexual conduct." Funny you said, I know several friends of mine who have not been troubled ONCE and they are living happy lives free of any blatant disregard for their relationships. "Irrational and illogical," sounds a little narrow-minded to me, right? Love is love.
@STRUTTER777U "Those who do have on average a shorter lifespan, a higher suicide rate, & are at risk of HIV." Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Please show me whatever lovely source you're getting your information from because I guarantee you I can negate anything you're saying just by your own attitude on your stand. Many gays are sufficiently happy and are deadly disease free with a great life span ahead of them. Explain to me then, why you think there lifestyle is unhealthy? You can't, so stop.
@BlakeWalker27 "Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM)1 represent approximately 2% of the US population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV and are the only risk group in which new HIV infections have been increasing steadily since the early 1990s. In 2006, MSM accounted for more than half (53%) of all new HIV infections in the United States" -- CDC
@CAREYMERCIER LOL! I'm not a fan of felines, and I never had one, don't want one. You don't even know me, yet you are judging me? Are you a nasty person?
@FairySparkle106 thank you so much, and I'm actually very glad for all the positive responses from people just like you who show that the world has compassion and understanding. Thank you, not only for your kind words to me, but the bravery they no doubt instill in those who have yet to come out.
I don't know you but I have the utmost respect for you for being strong throughout those terrible times and even more respect for putting up this video. It doesn't need to GET better. It can BE better NOW, everyone STAND UP for yourselves, and remember for every 1 person who makes fun of you or says hateful things to you there are 1000 who love and respect you for being real as it can be seen throughout all the videos and wonderful comments left by strangers for strangers.
@Bagatronic Slightly ironic that you're telling me to get a life when your sundays consist of trolling youtube. That being said, I'm sure everyone already sees the point you just proved, about the gay community being targeted, so I'll just leave it be. :)
thank you for sharing this. This project is so inspiring... because of people like you standing up for the benefit of others and sharing their story. I'm glad you're still here.
Thank you so much for this video! I recently finished high school and i am so glad i never have to go back to that time/place! as time passes i start to realize that accepting the "real me" and the way i think and act helps me get in a better place! Thank you once again for your honesty and advices! ^_~
@CycleOfMadness haha but i don't have the guts to share my awful experiences online. i think you're amazing for doing this, i just realised videos like these can actually help kids in their worst moments. (:
@TheSkyweaver I'm really happy that that aspect shone through, I actually did 3 or 4 versions of this video with scripts and it felt so unnatural. So I finally sat down and ran over it like I was talking to my best friend. Thank you. I just hope it helps.
Oh, sweetheart. This is wonderful to watch. So honest. I feel for you that you had an unbelievably shitty time in school. But it's great that you're happier and healthy and better supported now! Big up your friends, and big up the queers. Love from England xx
@kitrichardson Thank you, it came from the heart, which was really hard, but I think it paid off. Most queer kids do have a tough time in school, teenagers, particularly heterosexual boys, can be very ignorant and mean. I really liked your video too.
first, i love that you made this video. second, & i may get mushy here... i didnt know that school was so rough for you =/ and i know i wasnt exactly the best friend i could have been for you, especially in jr high, & i just wanna say i'm sorry if i ever did anything that hurt you over the years, which knowing how bitchy i was i'm sure i did...& i'm sad that we lost touch after high school. but know that i am happy that you're in a better place and that we are friends & hope we remain friends<3
@MusicAb As I said, I'm in a better place now, I don't stress over what was, or I try not to. What's important is that you're here now, and that you're a good friend. :)
