diana dors, britains answer to marilyn, and brandon de wilde, god names i havent heard for a long time. this is brilliant hitchcock, i used to love this show, because of the twists at the end of them. memories eh!
Question of the day: Do you think the fine folks at Universal/NBC/Comcast/General Electric will release "Alfred Hitchcock Presents Season FIVE this year? Ain't America's Corporate Media great? Ted Turner's not much better. I had a dream last night where the cops busted down the door and confiscated all my Racket Squads and Twilight Zones. After all, their "illegals"!
@jazzfan19605 I have to brother! It's getting harder and harder to identify what is truly in the public domain. I really do my best to play by the rules and still get surprised. Thanks Richard for the tip and the compliment.
This episode was intended to open the 1961-'62 season (its last as a half-hour series), but NBC vetoed it on the grounds that the denouement was "too gruesome" [and indeed, it is]. It eventually appeared in syndication. As always, Hitch's monologue was written especially for him by James Allardice.
@fromthesidelines I appreciate this information Barry. When I looked it up on IMDB it was confusing so I just left the year it aired out. I'm glad you cleared that up! Do you know that this was in single channel mono? That drives me crazy so I ripped the Mp3 from it and converted it to dual channel mono which, to me, is almost like joint stereo. I don't like that either but better. Love that true stereo separation. "Denouement," great word. Looked it up just to be sure. Mild by today's standards

Re: "Hitchcock the master," etc. Actually, Hitchcock didn't direct this film. Did you, folks, know that? :)
