Looking back on these days is a terrific experience. Here we are in 2011 and now THE MAN Mr. Doyle Lawson is a legend. Man..he's given so much to his fans over the years. He also received an Honorary PhD of Fine Arts. No one deserves it more than this man.
Look at Doyle's expression at time 2:35. He is eating up that high tenor by Russell Moore. Russell is the best ever and this combination with Doyle just cant be beat. AWESOME !!!!
Mountain heart eat your "heart" out. And to think...this is actually Bluegrass unlike Mountain Heart nowadays. Went to see them last weekend and they had a freakin' organ and piano doing their breaks. What the hell???? Barry asked what the audience wanted them to do and one guy said, "How about some Bluegrass"? Ha ha
The absolute best time for bluegrass was actually between the late 40s-early/mid 60s. That had the real bluegrass bands, Flatt and Scruggs, the classic Monroe lineup, the Stanley Brothers.
But the 90s did have good stuff, and Russel rocks!
no offense to Doyle, but they weren't that popular with the first line up at first, they really didn't become really popular until the original line up started to leave, then everyone realized, how good thery were, but then they were to late, they all had left the band
doyles my cousin lol the one that i never see. haha

Couldn't ask for better true bluegrass than this, nor a better mandolin player than Doyle
