  • Looking back on these days is a terrific experience. Here we are in 2011 and now THE MAN Mr. Doyle Lawson is a legend. Man..he's given so much to his fans over the years. He also received an Honorary PhD of Fine Arts. No one deserves it more than this man.

  • Look at Doyle's expression at time 2:35. He is eating up that high tenor by Russell Moore. Russell is the best ever and this combination with Doyle just cant be beat. AWESOME !!!!

  • Cant beat it!!!

  • Doyle Lawson does'nt get enough credit for all of the great talent he has helped or has given starts to.

  • Doyle is as real as it gets!

  • Hoot Hester and Glenn Duncan on fiddles

  • And that's what bluegrass is VOCALS VOCALS VOCALS. I also love the twin fiddles.

  • Son! Russell can bust the tenor! Killer!

  • best vocals

  • I miss THIS band. They were so good. I still play my "The News Is Out" record from time to time. Now thats some great bluegrass!

  • @luvthemusic73 Doyle re-invents Quicksilver every coupla years. Always excellent.

  • Mountain heart eat your "heart" out. And to think...this is actually Bluegrass unlike Mountain Heart nowadays. Went to see them last weekend and they had a freakin' organ and piano doing their breaks. What the hell???? Barry asked what the audience wanted them to do and one guy said, "How about some Bluegrass"? Ha ha

  • @Poneutria Awesome! I think that's the first time I've ever laughed out loud at a comment on youtube. Thanks!

  • I just saw this group on Woodsong and I was amazed with their Blue Train.

  • Unbelieveable

  • when was this?

  • Sing it Russell!

  • Great line up and harmony keep it going guys

  • Fine singing, finger pickin' good music. Long live Bluegrass. Greetings from an Irish musician.

  • All-

It doesn't get much better than this.

  • I think the line up with Barry Scott and Jamie Dailey was allright too.

  • Thanks for posting this great song by Doyle and the Gang. They are my all time favorite bluegrass bunch. May God Bless U. I give U 5 *****.

    Darlene

  • Great job doyl

  • Great Music!

  • Good God!!!!!!!!!!

I missed another killer vid on here. Got chill bumps.

  • I agree with that, but the song selection on Doyle's first records is just killer.

  • listening to doyle's first record is actually how I got hooked on bluegrass music

  • Go SCOTTY!!!!

  • i can't say this enough but the 90's bluegrass is the best for ''true'' bluegrass. Russel #1!

  • The absolute best time for bluegrass was actually between the late 40s-early/mid 60s. That had the real bluegrass bands, Flatt and Scruggs, the classic Monroe lineup, the Stanley Brothers.

But the 90s did have good stuff, and Russel rocks!

  • super, al zakaj rozi sako?! Great band!

  • the best

  • Yes Sir!

  • this is real bluegrass

  • Thats what it's about!

  • That's good stuff! Thanks for posting!

  • Anyone have any videos of the original lineup?

  • no offense to Doyle, but they weren't that popular with the first line up at first, they really didn't become really popular until the original line up started to leave, then everyone realized, how good thery were, but then they were to late, they all had left the band

  • Does anyone know the year of this taping?

  • Yeah and the ones from 1996 to now have been top notch too

  • This is one of the best lineups that Doyle had.
