I wonder if he introduces himself like that to everyone he meets... "Hi, I'm Christopher Rokosz, Actor, Director, Producer... Hi, I'm Christopher Rokosz, Actor Director, Producer..."
"One of the things that separates a professional from an amateur is knowing your equipment" well apparently you don't know your equipment because your video is blurry...unless you wanted your video to look like that!!!
Funny, as a photographer myself i can tell you he is very right, you need to practice and fail a lot in order to get better. The tip of analizing existing movies and try to understand what the Director or other decision makers of the movie did do is a really good one. Also, making sure you have to educate yourself all the time and networking with potential clients is inevitable in order to get better and known on the long term.
LOL it's funny when viewers criticize other people's game and call them names...when they came here to learn and they don't have any game themselves. Where's your YouTube contributions, critics?
Putting his name on Google doesnt show me anything about him. I found this funny those who say they are professional director, actor, whatever but are totally unknown. Well, anyway, I think I know why that guy didnt succeed. He tells it at 0:29. "Get one and film everything all the time". Worst idea ever man. And what the hell is a "photox" or whatever he says? Is it a looser like him?
@rpmasse01 Well as a Photographer myself, the best way to learn is repitition and doing it a lot. Playing around and learning your camera better. A Photog is a Photographer and Videographer.
Shows how much you know (or don't). 0:29 onwards is very true: All the knowledge in the world doesn't teach the fundamentals of composition, lighting, focus, etc. unless you PRACTISE all the time! How else can you learn from your mistakes?
He's right about the lingo, too. A photographer is commonly known as a "tog", among others.
You couldn't have looked very hard as Chris Rokosz is the co-owner/Exec.Producer of Rokosz Media Studios & has created thousands of eHow vids in HD for the 'net.
no, somebody showed me this video and told me how ridiculous this guy is and i had to agree... because he is one of those guys like them in hollywood whomever you are asking always the same answer "i'm an actor" even the garbageman.
he is nobody and when he would be somebody he could do without that. and don't care about me i bet even you do know me ;-)
Whether or not he's an actor makes no difference to the fact that what he said is true; you DO have to keep practising your filming. The exact same principles apply with photography: you can't improve if you can't see where you're going wrong. Just practise!
I don't care if he's an actor or not. Personally, I don't know of his "acting" work, either, but how can you accuse him of being a "nobody" if you know nothing about him?
By the way, I didn't understand your last sentence.
I'm not defending him, the same as I'm not judging him based on his talents (or lack of, as you seem to think).
Going by what you've said so far, I can assume you don't know him, either? If you don't then why slate him? as it's based on nothing but assumptions on your part.
If he enjoys & is making money in what he's currently doing, ie. co-producing & directing (whatever the scale of video), he's a success.
@Stormyweld05 I have to agree with you about the expert village video on how to become a videographer. Heck, America's Most Wanted re-enactments do not direct themselves. Ppl confuse being famous with knowing your stuff. This is a good video about basic knowledge on the film industry. If you want the super gritty details, then either go to film school or go to LA and learn the hard way. Either way, no one should blame the vid for not saying what they want to hear.
awkward when a video about how to video only is shown in 360p
