I think Elvis truly appreciated the heart and soul AK put into his performance -- every move, every word, every nuance, was pure Elvis. And he got to pay trib to the King on the Ryman stage. Makes this clip even more incredible. Andy, we will never see the likes of you again. For one brief moment TV was shaken to its formulaic core. You were fearless. You are missed.

At the 3 minute mark, Kauffman literally becomes Elvis. It is eerie and impressive. The transformation is so complete, that the audience can't help but feel that they are watching Elvis. Andy Kauffman was a true master showman.

@DopeMcDoperson We all thought his talking part was dead on, voice and all. Plus I don't think it was suppose to be funny. He was doing a impression of Elvis singing. In the later years Elvis always broke into speech and would ham it up for the audience during it. Anyway, Great video!

EXTREME flattery, from comedian who actually admired Elvis Presley and who Elvis enjoyed ..... his "impersonation." Wonderful video and treasure for our TIME CAPSULE. Hopefully, somebody has it safe somewhere, as did Sam Phillips of Sun Records with a couple of Million Dollar Quartet jam sessions.
