@abandongandon I'll bet she doesn't use race as an excuse and works very hard at what she does. I'm sure that if others had the same work ethic, they wouldn't be complaining either.
@abandongandon You don't realize how ironic it is of you to say that her fitness is a result of her genetics do you? Fitness is something you earn, not something you're born with
Due to space restricions(top of stairs)i have to bend my knees for this, i started to do 5 to the left then 5 to the right everytime i do them now, is this better in anyway?
much props from the state of tennessee, I cant enough of body weight exercises because you can do them anywhere, there is a phrase i live by, your body is the equipment the world is your gymnasium
Excellent, but the comments about not being able to get their legs straight had me lmao! :-) I'm guilty as charged, I can't get my legs straight either lol!
@carmeliavanhorn i know right, i've been so busy, but i so enjoyed wathcing you in this vid. ur so pretty and fit and muscular, i luv it! if i had a little girl i'd want to look just like u !!!
My cousin and I have been doing these as part of our workout but we've been doing a program where we do 1, then 2, then 3..... up to ten and then max out about 5 times. It seems like this lets the muscles warm up slowly and get stretched well and increases work capacity. When we're done with the chinups, time for curls to finish off the arms. Not a bulky person, but stringy like a grey hound :) I also love jogging because it firms up the whole body and builds energy reserves.
Don't forget once you get past about 8 or so to start doing them weighted once in awhile, in 3-5 rep schemes. Whenever you plateau on any exercise, it's a good idea to do more sets of less reps on a heavier weight. It helped me break plateaus on the chinup, dip squat, and press. A lot of people think they lack the muscle endurance, but they actually need to get stronger first.
well, i am not the mam lol, but all you have to do it keep doing them.even when you hit your max and you cant make it all the way back up, try to go as high as you can. and do full pull ups. all the way up and all the way down. it also helps if you change your hand placement if you can. do pull up, chin ups, then turn your wrists in facing each other, even try to do behind the head pull ups.
Great question! I have tried different methods for doing this. My recommendation is to do as many as you can regular style and then go to chair assist.
Put a chair slightly out in front of you, put one foot on top of the chair back and use that foot to help you push off and do the pullup. You will be able to go to muscle failure this way and finish your set of pullups. Soon, you will increase the amount of un-assisted pull ups you can do.
@4oldskool Thanks for asking! My purpose for wearing the gloves is because those stairs are unfinished wrought iron with very sharp edges. The gloves serve to protect me from lacerations.
you are a very amazing and beautiful lady but i am sure that Lilahart should beat you in a arm wrestling or wrestling challenge , what do you think about that
Thanks! That's alright -- most women cannot do one chin-up when they are starting out. I recommend you do chair-assisted chin-ups to start, i.e. put a chair in front of you, then put one foot on top of the chair and use it to help push yourself up. Build up the amount of chair-assisted reps until you can do one without the chair. It'll take a few months to build up your strength.
OMG!!!! My name is Carmellia! This is the first time I have seen someone with the same pronunciation as mine! That is so awesome! I just have one more L in my name.
My Portuguese is not good at all, but from what I can understand: you have neck and back problems? Doing this exercise should not be a problem for either of those areas. Since you are flexing your legs and not extending, there is no back (lumbar) stress. Enjoy!
wata hell haha, your talking while doing pull ups. i can barley breath while doing two!
