nah mate, just using a 8gb hi-speed class 4 card.. Allows for just over 2 hours of continuous recording..
I was planning on first taking it out on a small fun 3ft day, as the surf forecast said at the time, and when we rocked up its 6ft closeouts! Nothing to worry about, it survived and did its job perfectly!! And I use lithium batteries which are supposed to last only a few hours, but I have yet to run out of my first set after two sessions? (recording on highest quality of course!)
I used the fixed mount that came with it and drilled 4 holes into its base and attached it to the top of the helmet.
Been for 2 sessions now, and both times EVERY single other surfer in the water has come up and asked about it.. All presume it cost me upwards of a grand!
This allows for continuous recording for the entire sesh
Im about to put up a new vid combining it and on-shore cam footage
hahaha, yer you got hammered... filmed another one yesterday, but also had a cam on the beach filming.. songs called "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz, great song.. bit over played here in aus, but still a top "i love life" song haha

hey were you using a tachyon xc. did you have it mounted or just hand held

I have it mounted on to my "Gath" surf helmet.
