  • Pontiacs = Acceleration and power.

  • does the 04 gtp have the 260 hp 3.8 or the 303 hp 5.3 ?

  • @victoriadish 260 hp 3.8

  • @victoriadish 260 3.8

  • these things are sick fast.

  • is that stock?

  • add power steering fluid they all leak

  • are the 2004 grand prix gtps supercharged stock? i must know plz reply thanks!

  • @BigChief0001 yep. All gtp's are supercharged.

  • Whooo! Listen to that Gen V. Amazing.

  • damn... i wish my grand prix was supercharged :/

  • @Declipse16

It's possible to supercharge your GP if it's a GT from 1997 or up. Not sure about the 2004 and up models. Top-end swap it or get a SS M90 kit from ZZPerformance.

  • @wildman00sax That said, it's probably cheaper to just trade in what you have on a factory supercharged model.

  • @wharghoul

It's possible to top-swap GPGT for under $800 if you do the work yourself. That's what I'm doing. It would be WAY easier just to get a GTP though.

  • @wildman00sax Doesn't the supercharged 3800 have different internals, too?

  • @wharghoul Both 3800 Series II engines share the same internal parts. The L36(NA) connecting rods are longer, but that's about it. Same crank, same cam, same block castings.

It's possible to swap the top of a L67(SC) engine and bolt it onto a L36 engine (or vice versa) without much hassle.

  • @wharghoul

Slightly. The L67 (supercharged) has dished pistons (lower compression), but the rods are the same length (3.4" stoke on L67 and L36(N/A)). The rods in the L67 are stronger also (boosted applications). Other than that, the cam, crank and blocks are identical. Although the L36 internals are very strong and can handle boost. The best of all however is the L32 bottom end on the Series 3. Its internals are VERY, VERY strong. Nobody to my knowledge, has broken a L67 or L32 rod yet.

  • @Cirux321 Well, the more you know I guess.

I actually missed out on a nice 04 GTP Comp G. It was a great car (I was VERY impressed by the handling, especially, although the trans was a little hyperactive) but the dealer wasn't budging on their way too high price and I'm not too fond of the interiors.

Some day, I will own a Regal GS, though. Best looking IMO, and the nicest interior, too.

  • @wharghoul I hear ya. Yeah I own a 2002 Monte SS that I've done engine swap on. Went from the series 2 (L36) 3.8 N/A to the Series 3 (L32) 3.8 N/A with Thrasher CAI, Pace Setter headers, SLR chip and series 1 cam from Comp Cams. It does alright. Not a world beater but it does pretty good against most other V6's and mild V8 cars. My toy is a 2002 Camaro SS LE SLP. Its got the 405HP LS6, but its still all stock atm.

  • @Cirux321 I broke a rod in my 2001 gtp with only 12 psi of boost...

  • grand prix gtp comes with a supercharged v6. yes its stock. and yes, its a fast car. its amazing how much power those cars have

  • KR or Traction Control On.. Sounds like TC. Turn that off before you do runs.. Well i guess you dont have too. Depends how much you like your transmission. hahaha

  • Mods please?

  • do have a mod list posted some were? thats seems to be a quick GTP.

  • i have a 180* t-stat in it thats why and my enigine is still pushing close to 350

  • you are wasting your breath, there's no sort supply of idiots on here. Nice car, definitely more than a basic 3.4 setup.

  • I noticed the engine temperature gauge - the engine was stone cold. That a great way to destroy it, good job.

  • that was slow...

  • no its not stock

  • and thats miles per hour thats not stock at all

  • Whoa, definitely doesn't sound stock. What's been done to it?

  • it is fucking stock, that noise is the supercharged v6

  • Other wise known as the Supercharger Whine. Dont hear it in most cars but the GTP is one of the best stock whines.

  • @moneyshop16 Na you wont get that kind of whine out of a stock supercharger. I have owned a CompG and regular GTP. By the sound of it, he def. has some mods under the hood. A CAI is what gives you that classic S/C whine.

  • is this car fuckin stock???
