I''m not even gonna throw in the whole fact that the entire GT5 car roster is ridiculously heavy on the Asian manufacturer content. There's no reason for any 4 car makers to represent nearly half of the game's entire 1000 car roster, especially considering how many of those models are redundant or useless (a Prius....really?).

@razorfett147 You're right. Considering that GT5 is supposed to have a thousand cars, the car choice is just poor. Compared to Forza 3, GT5 has less Ferraris, less Lamborghinis, less Porsches, less Audis and less Mercedes, but on the other side GT5 has got about 30 different Nissan Skylines...

I've spoken to plenty of ppl who have played both.........some think GT5 is the ultimate race game, others found it less consistent and less appealing than FM3. You can find criteria that will support both as the better game. And since both are solid racing titles, there's no reason the smash one in favor of the other.

@Benjefwil The graphics are inconsistent....some cars look awesome (premiums) and the rest are of PS2 quality. Some tracks look amazing.......some look like they're straight off of a PS1 game. Some cars offer detailed interiors and damage, others don't. The game offers an incredible driving model, but hinders realism for the first 10-15 hours by not offering full damage or fully capable AI competition. It's just not as consistent across the board as Forza IMO.

@Benjefwil I'm not gonna bash it, as it is still a great racing game (the best GT to date), but the package itself left alot to be desired, especially after all the delays and hype. If they'd chop off the standard cars and the tracks that look like crap, I'd actually have a much higher opinion of the it. I want a PS3 era game, not a PS3 era game that throws in a bunch of PS2 era content just for shits and giggles. I know I'm not the only GT5 purchaser that feels this way.

if GT5 were to be a cross-console game, it would have to be downgraded, and fit in several CD's. Bluray can hold 50GB, while CD's hold around 10GB. The 360 is an older console too.

I respect Forza 3 as much as any game, Forza has an awesome selection of cars, great graphics, cool gameplay, nice features.

I will play GT5 simply because I have a PS3, and no, I refuse to bash 360 exclusives because they too deserve respect.

The "other" game has photorealistic graphics which has more "wow" factor. It doesn't make it exactly a simulator though. Since when did coming into contact with objects, slow or fast, not do anything to the vehicle? The "A.I." is also worthless. You call that artificial intelligence when they take the same line, lap after lap, after lap?

No, Forza is more of an arcade race sim, GT5 a serious race sim.

What that translates to is GT5 gives you realism, Forza gives you 'fun' (depending on your perspective) at the expense of realism.

Well, for one thing drifting in this game is absurdly easy. Another would be the fact you can take ridiculous racing lines that would kill any normal car, your tires barely wear at all, contact between cars is frequent and even helps you win, and you can upgrade any car and it's still not only driveable, but will match another car with the same power.

You should not be able to drive a hachi roku sideways around nurburgring for 10 laps without one pitstop against a porsche, and win.

I would get a 360 and forza 3. Not because I own an xbox as well, but because xbox's are so cheap right now. The game is already out. You can find good deals on the microsoft wheel. (If you want a wheel that is.) And from playing online with both consoles I enjoy using Xbox Live more than Playstation network or whatever.
