Anyone who believes that Obama was not born in the State of Hawaii is ignoring the facts. The State says that he was, so he was. So the question only remains of why Obama will not release a copy of the actual form. There could be two reasons. Either there is something on the document that he does not want us to know about, or he likes to make the birthers and the near-birthers look like crazy people. I would lean towards it being the former. But I do not know what it could be.

Obama was never an Indonesian citizen. There are no records that prove Lolo Soetoro adopted him. There are no records that his name was ever legally changed to Soetoro.

Because he was born on US soil, he could not lose his US citizenship as a child. He would first have to renounce US citizenship, which he could not do as a minor. His parents could not do that for him either.

Michelle Obama never said Kenya was his place of birth.

Well guys, it shouldn't be a big deal but Obama has made it one. John McCain, who was born in the US section of Panama, showed his birth certificate and we moved on. Obama hasn't done so to date and it's persisted as a topic. To dismiss the controversy by questioning the level of conspiratorial mind that faking birth announcements would require is a joke as well. If given the chance to be a US citizen over a Kenyan citizen what would you or your parents do...

Iit used to be a public service performed by the papers to get the info from vital statistics and publish the announcements. They did the same with marriages (when you file the marriage license) and obituaries. It was an automated process to get yur name in the paper upon registration of your birth at the HI DoS.

Further, HI registered births from dozens of 3rd world coutries.

I'm not a "birther", but my parents put a birth announcement in their hometown paper when my daughter was born. She was born 3000 miles away from their town, but that's what grandparents do sometimes; they share the news of the birth of their grandchild.

BOTH newspapers have been forced to acknowledge that the Department of State's vital statistics office, as a matter of routine, sent out announcements when the birth was registered at the vital statistics office. They also registered births from DOZENS of 3rd world countries as a courtesy in a time when records in those countries were lacking. Grandma registered the birth, and vital statistics notified the paper as a matter of routine.
