  • this is the cutest and at the same time weirdest classic music video ive ever seen! LOL... i enjoyed the entire song! =D

  • Such a beautiful,melodic track :)

  • sounds like the who a bit

  • stig!

  • One of the songs of 2011 :o)

  • Definately got the Crosby, Stills, Nash + Young element mixed with other sounds of the late 60's + early 70's...Seals + Croft, America, Joni Mitchell etc. Sounds Beautiful !

  • the first time i heard this song i could have sworn he was singing "you'll find Joey" i was like WTF

  • why are all coral songs so short :[

  • @Brooaz Probably so You can push the repeat button more often ;)

Well, at least I do so xD

    Great new song <3

  • Folk rock still lives. Shame on people comparing this to Empire of Sun...

  • Folk rock still lives. Shame on people comparing this to Empire of Sun... Can't even compare.

  • Nothing of that all, it sounds like the Birds and the Coral of course! It sounds fantastic.

  • Nothing of that all, it sounds like the Birds and the Coral of course! It sounds fantastic.

  • @echtvanmij yeah! the Byrds way before... even a tiny touch of America at their very begining (1971-73) ... crosby still nash maybe ...other names ? ...

  • He collapsed at the end because the cake was a lie. Watch the video, it's not just a meme this time.

Also this song is awesome, this album is awesome, this band is awesome. Nuff said.............awesome!

  • Great song, great band.

  • Esto está grabado en Almería. Seguro.

  • Esto está grabado en Almería. Serguro.

  • The clip is shit but the song is good

  • Fabulous song...Great vibe :)

  • Love the song, but it's suspiciously close to Empire of the Sun's "We are the people"...

  • @19galliano65 the video as well...

  • a bit like ariel pink's haunted graffitti, same retro glow, but not as freaky. love it love it love it!

  • this video is so wonderful, I can watch & hear it everytime!

    it's on my ipod :)

  • Excellent song as ever. Once again hats off to Paul Duffy at the wheel, with those inmense bass lines.

  • This is great!

  • Great, simply great

  • unoriginal

  • 141708 Views?

that's a shame, in my eyes this isn't just a indie band, they have something different

  • @supperunknown

Much More than an Indie band. These guys have been putting it out album after album for a decade now. Getting better with age and always a different element to their sound with each album. Some of the best rock musicians out today without question.

  • im seeing this lot in novembe at the albert hall. meeting back stage as well after along with liam gallagher and his new band.. fukin ace man

  • welcome back !

  • Vintage Love...

  • they ARE the modern beatles

  • @Banouwnsoaft I guess if the beatles made something that sounded like this.

I would give them eagles if anything.

  • cool song! the first time i heared it on the radio, i thought it was a song of The Moody Blues that i didn't heared before :-)

  • the video wasn't recorded in almeria, is it?

  • 5 people are nazis

  • beautifull song

  • if your going to follow the river,

you only going downhill from there.

  • better than drugs and fuck

  • At 0:50 Pedobear!!

  • the verses to this are like the yeti song from the mighty boosh

  • Wow this cool

  • I especially like the two short scenes in which this person has the (wolf?) mask on, seen from the side, and the sun is shining into the camera. Combined with the music, it has a beautifully mysterious feel to it.

  • no fucking way XD

    fantastic

those of you that like this should check out the doors

and those that dont should swivel on a sideways lemon ;)

  • NIICCEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nicely done.....John Leckie production.........and all

  • Copying C,S,N&Y but a very good job, indeed!

  • another all time classc (for those that know ther music :)

  • The Byrds reincarnated, together with Crosby, Stills, Nash..

  • wow it sounds like pink floyd (syd barrett) and a bit like the beatles.... love it !

  • @123juultje123 I love this comment. Exactly my thoughts. Love PF/Beatles!

  • @123juultje123 It Sound like The BYRDS !!!!!!

  • @123juultje123 nothing like the beatles thank god pink floyd sorry dont get it at all ,sounds more 7o's yeah that right

  • coolest sound ever... the new song but with nostalgic sound...

  • Great song and beautiful second single!!

  • Sure love that sixties feel....

  • damn this would have been perfect for summer. i'm late on the wagon :(

  • Read the comments: this song makes people think of dozens of bands. The Byrds, CSNY, America, Beatles, Blue Oyster Cult, Moody Blues, etcetera.

Seems The Coral have managed to pour them all in THE essential retro tune!

  • @morbels waooowww... blue oyter cult... surely not the cult sound of 1981... you're talkin' about the 1st blue oyster album from 1971 probably...

the challenge is to find new 60s 70s bands that the coral reminds us except those who are already said...

so i will say the Hollies of 1967 ... and maybe a little bit of millenium (68) ...honnestly i'm not completely satisfied with those 2 bands, 'cause z connection between them and the coral are a little bit less evident than with byrds, csny etc...

  • @BohemianConspiracy they"ve been influenced by Love, no doubt!

  • @dan32113 yep Love this one i forget it...the connection is clear...it's quite a while since i've not heard their forever changes

  • @BohemianConspiracy Blue Oyster cult was not my first choice, I merely quoted some of the bands that were in the comments.

The guitar solo sound in '1000 years' sure reminds me of Steppenwolf.

  • @morbels yeah i know... we have already talk about the main influ... but Steppenwolf is a damn good choice for the guitar solo! a few years ago i was really into their wild music ..."rock me" is one of my fave

  • The Byrds, anyone? Or H. P. Lovecraft possibly? Either way, great tune!

  • I hear this song the first time on my holiday in 08.2010 in Denmark radio !!! WOW !!! Ups, 70`s ??!! I´m a specelist, I think. C,S.N. & Y. with a little bit of Jefferson Airplane. OK, the acoustic guitar is later. I find it just her. Great Song !!! I hear more at Coral, so lala, but this song is very fantastic !! Back to the roots. Please more !

  • It it good... but man, these guys are trying too hard to emulate the 70s

  • Rich, mellow sounds.

  • Nice for my ears;)

  • anybody know the chords for this?

  • i just heard it on the radio and i thought it was an old blue oyster cult joint. can't believe this is a new song :)

  • @mechanik Me too !!!!!

  • am jamming :)

    love this:)

    :):):):):):):):):):):)

  • @simple4now you suck,

  • great band

  • these guys ar stuck in the 60s x']

  • @nirvanamario Yeah music from now is gone out of reach and lost the meaning of real music. Thank God ppl like The Coral bring it back.

  • the 60's sound of the coral is fantastic, i love that nostalgic sound

  • Heard this song on the radio not knowing who it was. Finally found the song that is suprisingly from the Coral. I really thought it was from a 60s band.

  • Almost like Roger McGuinn put The Byrds back together again. Great sound guys.

  • @weide1 The Byrds... that must've been what I thought of when I heard this song. I just couldn't place it. I thought of the Mamas and the Papas at first.

  • 14 seconds: so good for airdrums haha

  • fantastic!

  • Yeh. One of the best bands out of the UK in the last 10 years. I can think of quite a few others who don't deserve those tags. I won't mention any names but I'm sure you know who they are....

  • Theres some heavy Moody Blues in there, if you mixed some Blitzen Trapper and The Beatles, you have this.

  • Definately This Year's Summer Song.

  • great, my favourite song this year so far!

  • goed gemaakt,ik hoop nog meer van dit soort nummers volgen, doet een beetje het sixties gevoel te laten herleven,

    genieten dus!!

  • So very 60's! :D

  • like their chilled & poppy 60s flavor :)

  • This video reminds me of Alejandro Jodorowsky movies. Surrealistic! :)

  • The new 'America' single!

  • @morbels yeahhh...that's right...but to be precise...early 70s America naturally

  • @BohemianConspiracy No question :-)

  • Spot on retro!

  • Fab

  • a sort of early fucked up America... or a 1969 single of the Byrds who never existed - Imagine the Byrds with Hillmand and Crosby still in the band in 1969 ... Excellent single... Coral made a great return !

  • wonderful song. sundrenched splendour

  • great song! love this!

  • this is 60's acid rock

  • cracking tune, loving the new album!!!

  • this is the BOMB for me at the moment

  • Greenfield and Cook. Very 70's!

  • It's got a really retro feel to it.

  • Fucking brill song, best band for me. Superb stuff.

  • nice song

  • Is this "The Byrds" in disquise?

  • This is a really cracking album!

It;s not particularly original, but I'm really enjoying it.

  • not going back as far as a 1000 years, but back to the sixties!! Amazing song

  • NICE NICE NICE..ALWAYS..Yet again

  • I had the pleasure of meeting James Skelly (Lead singer) and Paul Duffy (Guitarist) when I saw them live on the 19th, was a moment I've waited for for over 8 years, YOU FUCKING LEGENDS!!!!!!!

  • This is just fucking gorgeous...Video ain't great but the song is incredibly beautiful...Sounds like the La's moved to Laurel Canyon...Intro is a stunner...Vocal harmony almost killed me and then the drums kicked in...Astonishing tune...It takes me to another place

  • With every new release by The Coral, I am ALWAYS pleasantly surprised.

  • woooooo Love 1000 years and the video. Saw The Coral play at Latitude and Liverpool this week!! They were amazing!! Viva The Coral x

  • Gorgeous song, gorgeous album.

  • What an odd video. Great song though.

  • why has this song only got 41,569 views!!! should have millions!!!

  • absolutely love this tune! brilliant this is the album iv'e been waiting for them to make this album and songs like this magic and medicine hinted at it but butterfly house runs with it! did someone say this was similar to a beta band video can anyone tell me which one ?

  • @theearliesman..... dry the rain????

  • @d34nus..... inner meet me????? dr baker?????

  • Went to see them last night at Sheperds Bush Empire and they were wicked. They definitely have not received the recognition they deserve.Very tight band with a very high level of muscianship

  • Cracking song. Seeing these tomorrow @ Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Can't wait.

  • Amazing song. I actually thought it was a rare Crosby, Stills and Nash track. A fantastic homage to the west coast sound. In contrast the video is a terrible, shameless rip off of The Beta Bands 'Inner meet me' set in a more exotic location.

  • Loved hearing 1000 years live at T in the Park!!!!!!!! Wooooooo THE CORAL was the highlight of the whole festival! x

  • A good song, but it doesn't feel like The Coral at all. What the hell happened to this band post Invisible Invasion? Granted I didn't like all their old material but most of it had a unique and mysterious sound that I thought would stay with them. It was THEIR sound. It started disappearing on Roots. Butterfly H however have no such magic, just samey folk pop songs that makes the band sound like most indie/wanna-be sixties bands. I'm all for experimenting but don't remove your fundamental style!

  • they dont seem to get the air time they deserve

  • che schifo di canzone! fa cacare!

  • Bands like this keeps me believing in R&R

  • ese nick power no puede ser mas guapo

  • Great song! Love the psychedelica in The Coral's songs! Excellent band and indeed highly underrated!

  • Don't know what it is exactly, but the way he holds that acoustic is so cool...

  • fuckin gallus

  • Topdraw song! A bit of Crosby stills and Nash in there somewhere. Also sounds like "Ventura highway" by "America". Love this band!!!

  • Love it.. Album on Pre-Order

  • Excellent song, great harmonies, the video itself is cool and that guitar solo.....sounds like something Jorma Kaukonen would have played during Jefferson Airplane days, which is just fine with me! Showing your influences is the most sincere form of flattery.

Who says guitar rock is dead?

  • theres a free download of Butterfly House on their website....looking forward to the new album...this has a late 60s west coast feel to it....they must have been listening to Jefferson airplane if that solo is anything to go by

    Jim

  • dunno why.... but after this song i always want to listen to california - lenny kravitz !!

  • The Coral are the most underrated band in the UK. Hopefully the Butterfly House album will be a big success for them. Definitely song of the year so far.

  • @Lovethemseventies They are really underrated. I remember 4 years ago I found their "Invisible Invasion" album in the dollar bin at Virgin Mega Store. :[ Freaken Justin Beiber.lol what's the world coming to.

  • This reminds me of George Harrison.

  • The Coral's power level is over 1000!

  • An immense film for an immense song by THE most immense band!
