  • @KokoroNamida100 Yeah, I've listened to it a lot now and I've pretty much fallen in love with the entire Italian soundtrack (it's taken my #1 over the English version, actually!)

And now that I have lyrics I realize that he says:

    "Cantar mio angelo della musica!"

  • @angelofmusic997 Same here. I love the Italian soundtrack. :)

  • 2:38 Woah... the Phantom sounds evil! Then he just sounds awesome when he says:

"Canta... (I don't know how to spell that/what he says...) dell musica!"

  • @angelofmusic997 He does sound evil there! xD I noticed that too! The first time I heard it I was like,"Woah. o_o" But I now love that part, haha.

  • Does anyone has the Spanish lyrics? Google translate does not help

  • I've heard this version,French one, Chinese, Spanish and I vote the Chinese version !

  • Do you have 'Male e odio intorno a me' at all from the OST?

  • la versione italiana è stupenda

  • This is interesting because Italian is one of the traditional languages for opera.

  • he sounds alot like Gerard Butler! and i like emmmy rossum bettter she captures the innocence of Christine which makes her perfect for the role

  • my fave version

  • Just a observation. In the movie version they have shorten this song by one verse.

  • Funny how people say how much better this is compared to Butler and Rossum's version despite the fact the singing styles in both are very, very similar to each other

  • @TheLightningmikester I know. The guy playing the phantom sounded a lot like Gerard Butler. And at the end, it honestly sounded like Emmy singing.

  • can you send me the lyrics in italian please, thank you

  • the Angel of Music - just like he's supposed to.

  • Ms. Rossum's age and Mr. Butler's amateur status aside, it falls on the the directors for making a poor choice in actors for the English version. They should have had a Phantom who was better trained vocally, and same goes for Christine - I have heard several singers who are younger than she who could have pulled off the role of Christine better. Luca Velletri's Phantom is a very good example of a tenor Phantom - a style I don't very much like, but I enjoyed his performance. He sounds like

  • i love this version SO MUCH!!

  • shure whatever but concider this gerard did not have vocal traning they picked him for his raw none clasical voice da gerard is great !!!! so is emmy for beeing only 16 when they cast her

  • @alexzanderopera What? Hire amateurs to do opera just because they have a rougher voice? Try casting an amateur for Don Jose in Bizet's Carmen and they'll have a riot. It's not trained vs untrained. Butler was in way over his head and the producers lacked the good sense to recognize this as filming/recording went along. He ruined a long-anticipated film despite all the computer enhancement they tried to do to make him sound better. Yuk!!

  • this vid is my fav becouse i,ve been in itely palermo so i can italian well!

  • It's amazing how all the versions besides the english are so much better

  • Italy rulez

  • Does anyone know where to get the lyrics to the italian version?

  • Sounds similar to Gerard Butler Voice.

  • cante per me is just 10x better than sing for me. jussayin

  • such a sexy phantom voice :D amazing

  • italian is the sexiest version! I like it

  • God bless the Italians. They have so much talent. (Singing, food...)

  • Damn that guy's voice is perfect ^^

  • @lilanthia he sounds very similar to Gerard Butler.

  • Dude the Italian phantom is perfect :D

  • @AZNBUNNi True, true

  • Mi piacciono i suoi capelli.. :)

  • This girl puts Emmy Rossum to SHAME!

  • @ChristineDaaePhan07 o and as for u hun lets put it this way keep in mind emmy who played christine in the phantom in english was only 16 when she got the role so dont be critical i know its your oppinion but everyone is good in different ways o ps italian christine is good yes but i love emmys high not better is sounds like glass and italian christines note sounds creatchy

  • @alexzanderopera Yes, but Emmy also hits an E flat, not an E6. Cheating.

  • @ChristineDaaePhan07 Emmy Rossum is way more better.

  • @Concertchoir75 ..."way more better"?

  • @ChristineDaaePhan07 My dog puts Emmy Rossum to shame.

  • @lilrowyravenclaw Hahahahahahahah HA! Touche! ;-)

  • che è veramente buono ottimo lavoro

  • I listened to the french version of this... I must say, that italian one is PERFECT. French soooo sleepy!

  • God, his voice is so perfect! Really beautiful! ^___^ But somehow I don't like Italian for her voice, I much prefer the German Christin!

  • This sounds better then the english version.

Can't wait to show this to my Italian teacher

  • If you ever get the chance, buy the Toronto cast cd. Colm Wilkenson is the phantom. He is amazing!!! I do really like this Italian version too.

  • the phantom voice is very hot,and renata voice is very pretty

  • very good singing first time i haer and i am really impressed !

  • Simply PERFETTO!!!

  • My personal ideal movie cast, if I had only to choose from those who sung for the movie version, would be Juan Carlos Barona as the Phantom, Renata Fusco as Christine, and Patrick Wilson as Raoul.

  • love it!

  • I like this in Italian better than any of the other languages :)

  • I agree, Italian is such a beautiful language! :)

  • So far, I've listened to the Phantom of the Opera in English, French and German and I have to admit, this is my favorite, the voices are beautiful and fit the characters perfectly :)

  • listen to the spanish music of the night its insane

  • Brava! Brava! Bravissima!

  • yes! its amazing specially watching it live

  • huge phantom fan!! i actually like the Italian and German versions better!!!

  • grande .. italiano molto meglio di Oprah

  • it sounds sooo much better in italian even tho i dont understand it!

  • I really love this version!! The beautiful voice of Renata Fusco as Christine and the deep powerful voice of the Phantom really suit the characters

  • hahha piu cazzo!!

  • I am half italian and i think this is a better version to

  • Funny! I published the comment below, then I saw crunblyfairy's comment. He's just right :)

  • I'm italian and I prefer Butler's voice.

  • They are amazing! I love the rolling of the tongues :) Does anyone else think he sounds like Colm Wilkinson???

  • I love Christines' Italian voice =) The Spanish version is algo very good, but I love this one too!

  • I love Italian. I dont understand a word of it but it sounds so beautiful

  • i can sing this...this rocks thanks for puting it in italian!!

  • Without the key change, it doesn't matter who sings this song - it just isn't Phantom with a D instead of an E at the end

  • I prefer Butler's voice

  • Italian Phantom is tens of times better than Butler.

  • I agree, Italian phantom is my fav.

It's kinda funny though, I've seen at least three Italians say that they love Butler's voice better :D

  • And Italian Christine:)

  • @ExplodingBacon may i just say shure this fantom is good but keep in mind gerard buttler had no vocal tranning and he was dam ! good so

  • @alexzanderopera Hah! But he's playing the motherfreaking Phantom of the Opera--he has to have vocal training! This is what I hated about the movie...

  • @ExplodingBacon IS NOT!

  • @ExplodingBacon I liked Butler as well very much, can't sasy this one's better.... but then again, you can't compair a professional with the oen who is amateour,so for what it was ,i was the best!

  • @VipVictorRock "Poor fool, you make me laugh- HAHAHAHAHA."

  • Comment removed

  • @ExplodingBacon Wait....

    ONLY TEN TIMES BETTER?

I detect an error in calculation. Try multiplying that by about...1000. Probably more.

  • @ExplodingBacon

    totally not..

  • @ExplodingBacon You have to admit Gerard did a very nice job, having just been trained and having never done opera before. :)

  • @ExplodingBacon Have you ever heard German Phantom? Now THAT'S some sexy stuff.

  • He has an almost perfect voice for Phantom. It fits perfectley

  • It's like Gerry and Emmy singing in Italian

  • Ok, I was wrong. French is amazing, but this girl tops the French girl/...

  • Wow...This actually is better than the French version...I love this :]

  • His voice is EXACTLY how I imagined the Phantom's voice it's so hot...I LOVE IT!!

  • o//o I'd hit that phantom... like the hand of an angry god.

  • kool ^^

  • el mejor es en italiano

  • omg awesome =]

    Fantasma dell'opera è qui, insieme a te

  • if anyone wants the lyrics to the songs message me im italian so i translated almost every song

  • yes, message me the lyrics please

  • theres an english version

  • the lyrics are not the same. If you translated them literally, it would have sounded really awful, believe me.

  • can u message me the lyrics please! thanx

  • can you please send me the lyrics? you'd be my hero!

  • WOW

  • This is absolutely fantastic! Luca Velletri has a wonderful voice and he is great as the Phantom. I'm deeply impressed.

  • Oh god, his voice at the end is so...... I can't even think of a word to describe how wonderful it sounds

  • Italian Phantom= FANTASIES HAVE BEEN GRANTED :D

  • Oh god, italian phantom voice= yes!

  • Phantom voice= HEYYY!

  • Please, help! where can I get the lyrics?

  • You could always try google translate, and translate the original into Italian

  • it wont work

  • Why not?

  • they translate it word for word, so it wont make sense in a sentence together.

  • Well then I'm out of ideas. =P

  • the italian lyrics are posted a few pages back, here is a roughed out translation

at night he comes to me, in my dream

the voice inside of me, lost, oblivious

am i dreaming or not, i see you

phantom of the opera, you're with me

you will sing with me, the aria that

you inspire in me, that's lost in you

you're in my power now, you won't escape anymore

the phantom of the opera is here, with you

  • No no no it's 'In sleep he sang to me in dream's he came that voice that call's to me and speak's my name and do I dream again for now I find the Phantom Of The Opera is here inside my mind

'Sing once again with me our our strange

duet my power over you grows stronger

yet and though you turn from me to glance behind the Phantom Of The Opera is there inside you're mind'

  • That is the english lyrics. They want the Italian lyrics. It sounds different because if they translated it word for word then the lyrics wouldn't correspond with the music. English and Italian are very different languages. =-)

  • But that's the lyric's the are not going to be diffret just cuz it's Italian

  • Changing the subject a bit. The French lyrics for "The Phantom of the Opera Theme" is different from the english one because of the same reasons as I explained below. I know this because someone who spoke french said so. Same applies to the Italian language. The song, in itself, is not different for all languages. But they do use different words because at times you can't directly translate english to another language. I hope this makes sense. It's a little complicated.

  • Yes they are. It would've been impossible to translate them directly, it would've sounded awful and terribly awkard to Italian speakers. ^-^

  • magnifico

  • Italian is soooooo beautiful! I'm so proud of my heritage! :)

  • i like gerry best, and yes he does sound slightly similar =] this is a great version though.

but ya know, gerrys the fittest :P

    Fantasma dell'Opera è qui, insieme a te

Fantasma dell'Opera sei qui, insieme a me

  • Di notte venne a me, nel sogno mio

La voce dentro me, perduto oblio

Ma sto sognando o no, io vedo te

Fantasma dell'opera tu sei insieme a me

    Fantasma dell'opera è qui, insieme a te

  • OMG!! SO much better than the English movie version!!!! LOVE the original Broadway version!!!!

  • YUR A PERV CUTIEBERTHA!!

  • yeah, like amuch older one though. in my opinion he sounds, like, forever older than christine. he kind of scares me. (not in the way the phantom is supposed to though.)

  • wow, his voice is sooo smooth. I love watching this movie in different languages. the vocalists are superb!

  • Man, that does sound like gerry!

  • When she says " Fantasma dell' Opera e qui insieme a me" it's sounds like spanish. This is how it sounds in Spanish. "El Fantasma de la Opera estas dentro de mi." Doesn't it sound similar?

  • Italian and Spanish both come from Latin, don't they?

  • yup. right you are

  • actually yes,so close each others they are from same origin and some worlds are even the same

  • Yes it's true, and so does french. I speak french, but i can understand a little bit written italian and spannish, because it resambles a lot. French and italian is to beautiful languages, don't you think?

  • I apologize but I don't have the lyrics in Italian nor do frequent youtube all that often, hence I didn't know this vid had so many comments to date. Thanks for viewing and I am sorry about not being able to get those lyrics to you.

  • he sounds almost like gerard!

  • i never understood why every christine is brunette...shes supposed to be a blonde according to the book.

  • beacuse when Andrew llyod webber wrote the muscial his muse Sarah Brightman was a burnette. Sarah was the first Christine

  • Who cares? Everyone's a blonde. At least she's different, eh?

  • bello!

  • I don't like the italian's phantom voice...It's just..Too weak. Gerard actually gave me chills, even if he isn't a real opera singer, this guy....It was like it was flat. But she is great

  • Yes, she is awesom, the guy is awesom, and Gerry isn't that good!

  • yeah def Italian version is much better than english.. where can i get italian lyrics? Thanks!

  • i just love the simplicity of the woman singing for Christine...her voice is so beautiful and she hits every note but i just love how she sing it so softly- i picture Christine to be a delicate person so the voice fits

  • I agree for the most part, although I thought that the held notes at the end could h
