@johnathon124 It's not a hack exactly, it only has be proven that has retro-compability with "pirate NDS cards" like the famous R4, If you notice the games used in this videos are from NDS and not from 3DS. If you consider this a hack, then the 3DS was hacked before it was born.

@Darkedor while that holds true, I'm pretty sure you need a card reader exploit to make the NDSi and the 3DS see the R4i as an actual game, without realizing it's supposed to be blocked. That was probably the only reason Nintendo released the 3DS. It's just a DS with cameras and a new UI, but all the software updates only ever did were block the R4i. I'm pretty sure the R4 didn't initially work with the 3DS, but with effortless searching for an exploit, they made it happen.
