I like this video. Honestly I don't think it's giving you more volume it just looks more pouffy. I like the chi better, because I need my hair to stay straight all day, so if it's really straight it won't be all that bad by the time I come home.

OMG i have a InStyler and its okay but its true that it makes ur hair have more volume. and i prefer having bone straight to the head hair too becuz ive had naturally curly hair since i was born! mah hair is black, curly, coarse, thick and frizy. the instyler really makes things better but compared to the chi, i choose chi. mah cousin straightened mah hair with chi and it looked amazing!! and with the instyler its soo poofy lol. any tips?

only thing I can say is, when I use the InStyler - I use the roll side on the hair surface and the brush part on the inside of the hair... I get it bone-straight and sometimes use it without brushing. it cuts time in half. I'd say InStyler is the one.

I just bought the InStyler, and I love it. I lack every hair gene possible, but after watching a few tutorials on YouTube (ABlankPalatte) I adore it. Just takes time to figure out what way to hold it. Like I said, I lack the hair gene, but the InStyler is AMAZING!

one thing that i noticed about the instyler it's that if you want it to work.. you have let someone else do it for you because of the direction that it goes.. that's why people complain about the instyler because they are not doing it the right way

noooo the instyler is amazing...i have thick long curly hair and the instyler works fine....it took me a while to actually learn how to use it....the rotating iron has to go in bring your hair out of the brush while its getting straightened ,,,never the opposite way..it can only be rotating in one direction but different positions

The exact same thing for me about the bone-straight thing. I had my hair curly for the longest time and I HATED it... My mom took me to get my hair straightened and as soon as she was done I knew I wanted to stick with it.

I have REALLY curly and REALLY thick hair, and it looks really short when it's dry but it's actually really long. This video really helped me decide which one I'm going to get so I'm going with the chi. Before I whatched this I was pretty sure that I was going to get the instyler because it added more volume but I really didn't like how it seemed to really look dryed out and lifeless so I might try to find it at sally's,target or wal-mart later today.

I tried the instyler today, it took me double the time to do my hair, and it was just fluffy, idk how to explain, but like you my hair has always been curly, I want straight hair not frizzy/fluffy lol so I had to redo my hair with my Remington Wet 2 Straight, and it came out just the way i like it ;)...btw this was a great demonstration

I'm gonna be completely honest, I was soo hype to try the chi, then once i did I wasn't really all tht happy. I used it twice so far once today and last week. My friend came over so I used hers. Like it's ok to me. But to ME I just wasn't all tht satisfied. It sort of dried my hair out for some reason. I deep conditioned it but idk wht the problem was. that's not how you're supposed to use spray on heat protectant. it's used when one's hair is still wet from the shower, then you blow dry it.

@mlatti2 Actually you & iCRAiZ are both correct. You can use it on wet or dry hair. It's called heat protectant for a reason. You use it on your hair wet of course if you are goin to blow dry it & it helps protect it from the heat or you can use it on dry hair before you curl or straighten it as well.

I wouldn't recommend using it before you dry your air & after to straighten it tho because tat could cause a greasy feeling or course, build up feeling hair.

I have both, and my hair is super curly... The instyler is like a all in 1 tool .. It takes me about 1 hr or more to blow dry my hair and than straighten it.. I pick the instyler because it doesnt damage your hair and it does get the job done for people who use it right. The chi only crushes your hair and makes it dead flat, thats all it can do! the instyler can do multiple things like curl, straighten etc. btw who wants straight hair, dead straight hair is boring.
