  • Looks like the old citroën DS !!

  • 100 hp per wheel and 8 wheels = 800 hp. Damn.

  • 10 hours to Recharge?

    1889 Mrs Benz was faster.

If you cut the Recharge Cable the Oil companies will kill it

  • green and fast but Ugly

  • 1:26 WTFLOL

  • from front it looks like some kind of Seat concept, from left or right like some old-styled modern citroen. 8 wheels don't convince me... but I guess heavy weight has better grip on twice more support.

  • What about driving in heavy rain or flooded streets? Would that cause a short of the wheel-mounted motors?

  • ha ha ha ha ha

porsche 911 turbo have slower acceleration than eliica electric

    ha ha ha ha ha

  • get in a caterham and you'll see amazing acceleration.

electric acceleration better than internal combustion. yeah right....

911 isn't the fastest car dudes...

  • @deafpowerranger : It's a fact of life and it's a fact of science, electric engines have higher acceleration than combustion engines. And a Caterham does not have 100HP per wheel either :D Nor it reaches 370km/h...maybe free falling from Everest, yes :D

  • @deafpowerranger Once you try electric you will notice that ICE acceleration is sluggish and feels unresponsive in comparison.

  • The "English" accent of this French news anchor is a bit disturbing!

And I wonder if the Japanese couldn't find a more beautiful and attracting name for this car other than Eliica?!

  • @hasanxxyyzz Who cares, it's beautiful and it performs, who cares about the name?

  • thats gonna be the limozine of 2020.

  • @johnson1095

    It spells Limousine! :P

  • @hasanxxyyzz Spells Limousine that is faster than a Porsche

  • i generally dislike sports car designs (bonnets too big & too cocky).

but this design is very appealing to me

  • 100 in jst 4 sec....its a good sign...electric car....

  • Japan like always make very nice cars, God bless Japan.

  • Beautiful car.

    I want one !

  • yep lack off sexiness is a pr problem for electric automobiles, but we are getting there ;-)

  • Plus they outrun some of the top performance machines on the market today without compromises in comfort. Tomorrow has come indeed, no turning back from here.

  • Oh snap I see where Google for their idea

  • It looks like an old Citroen.

I half expect the pink panther to hop out.

  • The price is the ONLY issue at this point in time.. Sadly, the powers that be will probably have some sort of group to take this man and his dream down.. Very sad how the personal interests of the worlds leaders greatly effect millions of people...

  • @Sarcasticscum

World's "leaders" have always been selfish egoistic cunts, so no surprise there. Sure, it's not likely to change any time soon, but don't give up yet! There are already plenty of factory as well as home-brew ev's out and about. With major manufacturers stepping in and fossil fuel prices going up and up the trend to switch to ev's is becoming more and more economically feasible. Got my own ev project close to completion. The end cost of conversion is unlikely to go over $6000 AU.

  • 640hp and 370kmh?? NICE :P

  • This is going to make for some epic fires.

  • dammit japan.

  • My turbo stang will kick any electric cars ass lol.but this is still cool I like the fact that it's a 4 door sedan that hauls butt.

  • @TheDartblockstang I'm going to have to call your bluff on that one.

  • It's as simple as evolution: electric cars come, stinky cars go.

Ugly or not - what does that matter in the current state of development? It's an demonstration of what IS possible - no matter what oil magnats mean. And beauty lies in the eye of the viewer. In terms of technology and useability it's still a step ahead the jaguar x-c75 (which looks better but still pollutes air more than eliica).

  • @tarabinalong

Check out Tesla Motors, I think you'll agree that their ev roadsters are fuckin beautiful, no matter the beholder. 0 emissions. Plus they outrun some of the top performance machines on the market today without compromises in comfort. Tomorrow has come indeed, no turning back from here.

  • The Body should be like Lady Penelope's Roller from Thunderbirds.

  • functional as hell looks comfortable , quick and quiet ugly isn't the word maybe lack of style needs just a touch of sexy

  • most of you didn't pay attn until the end of the vid. Price tag, $300k. For $300k, you can get a gas auto just as fast, and you don't have to stop for 10 hrs every 186miles. Also, interestingly, they say "186miles at 62mph". How far in real driving, like a mix of hwy and stop and go? How far at 75mph, like on American interstates? Always with hype and skewed stats. Necessary to try to force something on the public it does not want.

  • @kenfo0 the public doesnt want it, it doesnt matter they HAVE to move to this, unless we find a planet made of million year old dear animals.

you dont have a choice, gas will only last so long so enjoy!!

  • @kenfo0 First off I'm part of that public & I want it. 2nd most people don't drive that far to work & 3rd you likely won't see this particular car because the auto & oil industry do not want us to see it. I'm so thankful companies like Tesla are forging ahead & making people like you sound foolish.

  • eliica is the new celica lol

  • @2:10 there are ghosts in japan! and they drive golf carts lol

  • Visually, it immediately reminds me of a Citroen DS, which was another car decades ahead of it's time. The DS went from drawing board to production in just a few years, and sold a million vehicles in it's 20 year run. Let's home the Eliica has the same fortune.

  • @LeonsEmailAddress

I know, but the DS was an actual car produced by a large car company. The Eliica is simple a POC. But still the electric car is here to stay! :D

  • Made by engineers, not designers.

  • OMG its got better acceleration than a porsche 911? Too bad its ugly as fuck and will cost a fortune.

  • you could get to work in the snap of a finger

  • 230 mph

  • i like the range on that,, 300km not bad, you could deff drive to work and home every day in one of those...

  • i'd throw some d's on that bitch.

  • Yeah most of the parts that would fall apart in a regular car are absent in this one. It's design is very simple and dosent have much parts at all.

  • @N9olan ha, ha except its abundance of wheels

  • @6SpAr6TAN69 Oh yeah thats right! HA HA! But if you get one flat tire then you are good. All flat then car is busted.

  • 100 km/h in 4 seconds but top speed is 370 km/h need to go faster ?

give it a chance this car came out of a University garage

  • 100kmh is roughly 60mph..... for lets say about 120miles.... thats just sad..... get a Tesla........

  • Fast, cool as hell, yet ugly and ludicrously expensive all at the same time... I love it!

  • 'No matter what your going to have to pay an arm or a leg.

With most gas cars your paying high gas prices, and gas cars fall apart very easy, replacing cylinders, or other parts in there engines. But this car is built to last. But then it cost a arm and a leg from the start. Wile the other cars will cost you an arm and leg over a few years.

  • yes and replacing 8 tyres at once won't be too cheap either...

  • 'Yeah but its cheaper than having to replace car parts. This car is made so it does not fall apart like other cars do.
