The movie is very unrealistic. It shows like the Russians were the weaker and brave army and that they were attacked by Turks. But in reality it was exactly the opposite.

There were 30,000 Turks in Plevna surrounded by 150,000 Russian troops who had more cannons actually. the Russians bombarded Plevna for months but Osman Pasha greatly inspired his men. 3 times huge Russian army attacked and each time they were defeated and retreated. In the end the Turks had no food left and surrendered.
