  • you could cook in the dark and I would love it., and I do. you should teach... oop's you already do... : ) love it!

  • helooooo i couldnt seee shiiittttt!!!!

  • never thought about finishing a steak in the oven...interesting!

i know you were nervouse, but you wiped your raw meat hand on your pants!

I like garlic butter with my steak....

  • Thanks, cast iron is pretty much essential and does not get the credit it deserves. We go black and blue when we can get really good meat so we pretty much like to skip the oven>thermometer>steak sauce thing but if you like medium/medium rare or are using average meat you are right on. Side note, those propane turkey cookers work great with cast iron and woks. When I do steak like this I use butter and the entire house fills with smoke, taking it outside helps a lot. Great vid!

  • enjoyable....congrats good stuff

  • The picture matches the colour of my steak by now... I shall have another go at it..just let me get my hands on the electrician first ..

    Great seaoning, though..

  • Im sorry this was a bit difficult to watch, here is how I watched it,

Ok cast iron skilled, I need to buy one of those.....Oooh she has a really nice body. Wait she said something I missed it. Ok high temp.. ooh someone is walking around loudly, missed something again, ok oil..oooh a doggy, and so on and so forth

  • Should of soaked that steak in mustard!

  • nice body martha lol!!!

    i want some of that

  • Why show the final product when you can't see the most important part of the video?

I'll use this recipe but the video quality sucks.

  • Nice butt!

  • UMMMM I LIKE TO EAT HER'

  • I have little experience cooking steaks so I watched your video to help me out. It was really easy to follow! I used sirloin tip steak about 1" in thickness and I marinade them for 24 hours with steak seasoning, olive oil & soy sauce. I cooked them like you showed in your video. They came out wonderfully! My husband raved left & right about how great the steaks were. Thanks for your help!

  • Which type of meat do you prefer the filet mignon or NY strip?

  • I cant see anything! this sucks ! SORRY

  • Comment removed

  • I like this, will this work with T Bone and how long do you keep it in the oven for med well? thanks

  • damn, nice body

  • I'm from Maine and our potatos are very good also.

  • Instructions are good but the video quality and lighting make it hard to see much.

  • Now i know a cook is great and food be on airplane but it is heard food came the sky which been save, also other things is amazing to enjoy.

  • what are the prices of different steak cuts? please share with us. lookmarq. com

  • what setting should i turn my stovetop too? medium-high?

  • She has a bice body for her age

  • i kno

  • If you cooked a steak for me for 9 minutes, I would give it to the dog, or use it to resole my boots. Even then the dog might complain of overcooking.. yuk

  • What about using peanut oil? Higher smoke point?

  • In the kitchen, right where she should be.

  • you have a beautiful kitchen

  • Maria..thanks!I live in a high rise so difficult to get a grill to use...I will try your method ...But I really like my steak medium well to well done...so cook longer in oven?

  • i didnt say anyting was wrong, just turn a light on next time and let the baby sleep.... calm down

  • I love how you didn't skip a beat with all those distractions...

    LOLOLOLOLOL

    BTW...

    A1 Steak sauce is garbage

Slab some butter on that puppy

    That....combined with the steak's juices...

    Pure awesome!!!

  • Have you ever tried soaking a steak in soy sauce and garlic (sometimes we also add red wine vinegar too) for a day and then cooking? My husand did this and it was great! So I tried it with lamb and it adds tons of flavour :)

  • Needs camera lessons!

  • hey!!!! love the videos!! just a quick question; you mentioned how long to cook the steaks for rare and medium rare but what about well done???? i know they get a little tougher when they are well done, but i can't bring my self to eat pink meat!!!! lol!!!!

  • lol at 8:00 wtf?

You should put the oil on the steak rather than in the pan before cooking...

the comments are making me laugh too.

  • how big is that dog at 2.28

  • please turn a light on and shut the distractions down

  • Shut up, she's telling you how to do something you don't like it go away.

  • what wuz that sound on 1:34 lol

  • sounds like a far away bomb. :)

  • The dog cant wait for the fat !

  • hot mama who knows how to cook

    lucky you

  • You're missing the most vital ingredient of all Maria! Where's your glass of wine while you're cooking???

  • Hi, I just found your videos, and I love them, I do have some things to say though. Who cares about her child in the background? It's her home. Who cares about the lighting? It's her home. Your videos are great, I don't want to watch the professionals they are so boring.

  • good vid but poor sound .

  • great teacher i've never made a stake until i watched you and it came out brilliant i got alot of love for it ... thats why i had to subscribe.. thanx..

  • making it simple and easy is perfect

  • I love when ppl get a camera and video tape they're cooking experience. It looks normal and they feel comfortable which is important in cooking imo.

  • Maria, you don't have to oil the pan, just marinate your steaks in bit of olive oil and bit of seasoning, than put these in to very hot pan, effect is 10 times better than putting oil in to the pan. Also tenderize your steaks. They cook much faster and are really tender.

    cheers, :)

  • I agree. In fact, adding oil to the pan will likely cause a lot of smoke on the high heat needed to sear meat. Best to coat the steak first then sear it. Otherwise, great vid. LOVE the kitchen!

  • turn on the light

  • Very clear instructions and explanation. Thank you!!! :)

  • Thank you so much for this. Amazing.

I am a student learning to cook since I moved out.

Please don't stop making these they are a very valuable resource.

    :)

  • These comments are crackin me up...they are better than the video....the vid was cool too but man....I'm fallin on the floor laughin.

  • did you see the doggie?

  • also add mediterannean sea salt add ash from cigerette, rub evenly across steak ,make sure to tenderize the steak by rubbing it across every inch of your kitchen floor. spice things up a bit by hammering it with a jagged rock

  • way to long

  • It's very rare that I leave comments on YT... but I wanted to take the moment to thank you for an awesome video instructional! I'm off to the kitchen now to make me some NY steak!

  • most of it true but you should never oil the pan! only oil the meat, if not you will screw your steak!!!!

  • was very informative thanks

  • Excellent! The only question i have, is how would i clean the stake? im not a cook or anything special, just an ordinary kid that has a question.

  • I LOVE this woman's vocabulary. Thanks for the info, will try it tonight

  • i,m a disaster with steaks ..but this has got prospects,, i,ll give it a try,, thanks (good video)..24,000 views..great..!

  • this is an outstanding tutorial which i will try this memorial day weekend. how big are you cans btw?

  • i loved this tutorial.. thank you.

  • what kind of dog do u have and what is his name?

  • i enjoyes watching this, but madam, are u aware that your kitchen is completely dark? haha just teasing

  • Maria...amazing videos, I learned the gnocci verdi recipie the other day...thanks, by the way, greetings from Colombia

  • Nicely presented and worked perfectly for me.

Amar4200 - you moron. I can only presume you are a pre-pubescent cretin - this is a 'How to ' clip, the dialogue (is that too big a word for you) is the whole point of describing 'How to'

  • You are an excellent teacher. This is well done. You are very clear. In addition, I understand that the finger test, by squeezing your thumb and forefinger and testing resistance in the ball of your thumb is also a great way to ck for degree of doneness.

Amar4200...follow your own advice and do us all a favour.

  • awesome

  • Horrible lighting

  • Comment removed

  • thanks now i want steak reccommendation for new vid- fedituni alfredo my personal favvvvvvv

  • SAUCE RUINS STEAK!!! If done right a good steaks requires NO SAUCE! Also vid too dark but there was some good info in there

  • kewl. ive always cooked red meat on a grill and white meat on a skillet fried in butter. this looks good though so im guna try it w/sum ribeye right now, thanx!

  • Thanx for the vid, it was entertaining. I will make my own perfect steak rite now!

  • love the dog and the kid in the background! ;) great advice

  • Very good tips. You have a kick ass stove and oven.

  • It'th not a lithp... I mean it's not a lisp dude, it's just a cheap microphone on her camera lol.

  • What temperature should it be searing at?

  • best time to sear/know when your pan is hot enough, is to look at the oil. first the oil will ripple (not boil), then when you see the first slight whisp of smoke coming from the oil, thats when you add your meat for searing.

  • really well done video helped me out tonight. dont listen to all these damn youtube bastards that hide behind anonymity. damn winter season can never go outside to grill hahaha

  • umm? I think the video was fine and if you didn't like the video at the start why did you finish watching it. Dont criticize her for the work she has done, and apparently it was better than what you did because shes gettin paid to do it.

  • well, firstly, that's non of ur business. secondly, I believe everyone has the right to express their openions and no one has the right to stop them! It's just Youtube. so don't bother urself. ur always find various openions!!!

  • Great video but the lighting was not so good... Still very helpful though

  • You should tell your family to move to a different trailer

  • i wish i cldve actually seen what the steak looked like when it was finish. cld you work on having better lighting?

  • great job

  • I've seen this same method, but with two very different times and oven temps.I guess I'll split the diff between your 2 min searing and the 30 sec I'd seen prior.I also saw 500 as the desired oven temp for 4 minutes.I'm a little confused, but adding the oven to the process is a real help

  • nicely done. lucky family .

  • I like this video and its very helpful. I don't understand why people around you (family, friends etc) could care less what your doing until your recording. Thats when they find it appropriate to comment on what your doing or bother you...

  • Is it me or she really sounds like duffy duck when she sais "steak"????

  • steak is my favorite meal ill try this some time

  • daddyyy!

  • cool

  • I love your videos, thank you! I have a question, how long would I keep the steak in if its about an inch thick and there is only one?

  • 5 minutes

  • Thank you very much!

  • awesome, going to cook a porterhouse tonight

  • needs more light, great video, very informative. shes hott!

  • great instructions and info but I especially love you dog's cameo hehehe.

  • by far the best video about cooking meat indoors... cheers

  • Hey Maria, I just noticed you coated the pan with olive oil. I was recently told that grapeseed oil is better because it has a higher smoking point, therefore doesnt burn as easily.

I use olive oil also like you, but was just wondering if you had tried if with grapeseed oil and it made a difference?

  • good video... a ton of good tips... i'ma try it tomorrow for thanksgiving... i hate turkey, so steam becomes my feast. :-)

  • STEAM is an awesome feast. Mmmm steam.

  • i meant Steak.

  • Steam..yes.....

  • I think the actual class is amazing! But seriously, the lighting, and the background sound need to be worked out well.

  • I followed your instructions and the meat turned out delicious. Thanks!

  • Hi Maria, great video!

  • your kids need a spankin

  • Hi, Maria! My name is Maria as well. Do you teach cooking classes? I've watched a few of your vids, and I think your instructions and advice are very thorough. I love the recipes you pick and the way you explain things, I just wish there was better lighting and less distraction! Ah, but that's life, eh? ;)

  • That dog was like what the fuck is goin on in here

  • What are talking about!? she's damn hot!! And an amazing cook!

  • Great Job Maria!! What the hell is all that damned noise in the background? You need to fire that sound man!!

  • Nice job Maria.. thanks for the video..what time is dinner ?

  • Im actually trying these recipes and I never cook. You do a nice job.

  • Hi Maria

    My name is Maria too!:)

I came across your videos and I just love your recipes and cooking technique.

Hope to see more videos soon!

  • i c a hot mama!!

  • Seriously you need to leash your child

  • why?

  • thats ridiculous

  • Very good video. I can tell you're a good cook because you're conscientious in your approach.

  • Very good instruction - especially bringing the meat to room temp, resting and praising the virtues of cast iron. Kudos for finishing the video with all the off-camera distraction too.

  • thank you - i am trying to do it right...

  • I heard a good marinade can be as simple as red whine (the one you drink) and some pepper corn. Interesting video.

  • It would be more healthy for you, if you feed the steak to the dog and cooked some fresh fish to eat.

  • nice push up bra. what are you afraid of? yourself?

  • Thank you. That was very helpful.

  • Great Job! I felt like I was right in your kitchen! I especially love when your husband walked in and your response - how cute!

Thank you for taking the time to do this and I hope to see many more!

    Love and God's Blessings,

    Cat

  • the sound and lighting is fine quit ypur complaining, its probally your crappy piece of shit computer cause i could see it great and hear it
