It took BALLS to make FF7. Idk if you realized but all the FF games before 7 had a "dungeons and dragons" theme. FF7 competely strayed away from that theme. so not only did they put FF in risk BUT also fans that were in love with that theme.

& FF7 does not have many FMV's..CC has FMV's that are fucking basically movie-secnes...FF7 has what, Cloud falling off cliff or some random video showing mobiles ?

& the REASONS why FF7 got BIG in the US was

1. FF7 was appealing. the character designs, setting and music...it was not over the top. FF7 is soft-core anime at it's best! & we all know anime can get hardcore & weird lookin!....ppl in the US LOVE simple shit! plus it had a BLACK character who was not only playable BUT a main role.

2. it came out at the RIGHT time..PS1 NEEDED a game like FF7 to make Zelda & shit look childish..plus show off it's graphics.
