Not trying to make excuses, but I believe we had been singing this for a few weeks when we performed it and it's at the end of a five day tour... Holy cats were we exhausted. Looking back, 2 years later, we were a little punchy, but I'm still proud none-the-less.
We just sang this in honor choir in Hamilton Montana, for music festival. I'm from Columbia falls though. Anyway, we performed this and sounded awesome. We're no EOU but we were close. :)
@faithiebug You must not be familiar with the original version (the one with a native Hindi speaker singing the HIndi words). It is pronounced "jie," not "jay."
@redhatbird if only you could zoom in. I really had fun with this song (I'm the brownhaired girl in between the two guyes in the very back.) all the time. But give us a break! we were exhausted. normally, however, I'd agree with you. our choir likes to be serious, for some odd reason. not me!
@dhilip007india007 what? who is this? who do you think this is? I'll tell you, but I just want to make sure that you know who "cimorine" is in the vid . . .
it has the intensity the song needs.... but it sounds like everyone in the chorus is belting their parts... like the everyone was competing with each other.
@bleachlvr89 a lot of the members are stubborn. :) apparently they moved "too much" last year. :D But it really is supposed to be like that. this is bad quality. . . plus, our best performaces are always when no one is watching. :D
My middle school choir class is going to sing this song for our Spring concert. It is soo hard to learn, but it's an amazing song.

@cimorine I see you now! You were definitely energetic, but as a whole your choir needs more energy. THey need to feed off of your energy!!! :]

they make it sound like "JIE" ho. it's pronounced "JAY" ho.
faithiebug 1 year ago
@faithiebug They're right. In 'Jai' the ah-ee sounds like "JIE" when you say it fast enough. Not "JAY HO".

Try moving a bit more when you sing... And don't do it so opera-like and it will sound much better.
