my mom was like that. she was tired of going to auto mechanics and being rip-offed, (no offense to the honest guys out there) so at 45, she got mad, signed up for auto shop at the local vocational school, learned and she in turn taught me everything i know about repairing my own vehicles: carburetor, transmission, alternator, brakes, etc. at 5'0 and maybe 100 lbs, her lil hands fit where most men's can't. don't be afraid to ask - there will always be someone out there to help, ya know? : )
