  • Hey Theresa, I want to make a shrug using that stitch but I don't know how many I should chain.

  • can you use a size H hook?

  • @hotpinkjaguar Yes you can use a size H crochet hook

  • Well, I guess its not really taller, but I made a scarf the other day and it curved in the center and made like a slight horse shoe. That was 150 dc scarf. And the baby blanket is 90 chains to start with and if I lay it flat the outside edges curve up sorta. Not like really bad though.

  • I have tried this pattern out, looks good but its not straight across when I lay it flat. Its like taller in the center but if I pull it flat its straight but it wont stay that way. What did I do wrong lol

  • @LooLoo7711 I am not sure why it would be taller in the center unless you mistakenly worked extra stitches in the center.

  • Hallo Teresa! Ich liebe und verehre Sie. Ich liebe es zu häkeln, und ich finde deine Videos sehr sehr hilfreich! Danke und Grüße - iamawesom3267:)

  • Thanks! I finally did find the double crochet section at 14.00 in the video.

  • @miata06gal I am glad that you found it!

  • The photo shows the shells with a different stitch in between the shell rows.

It's not the same as what is shown in the video.

Do you have the pattern for the photo, not the one in the video?

  • @miata06gal The photo instructions are shown in the video at @14:00

  • Thank you so much for this pattern. I have learned so much from your videos. Im self Taught and there was alot i did not know. But you have showed me the WORLD of Crochet. Thank you!.... Im making scarfs from this pattern as gifts. They are turning out great!!!!!

  • @babygirlannea I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • this is a great video i am in the process of making a blanket for my first grandchild

  • Thank you so much! I wasn't sure if there was a special edging, or stitch that I would use... I love this pattern. :)

  • @Canthony12 I carry the rounded shells to the side and blend it all in together. At the corners, you will need to work extra stitches so they do not tug and curl up.

  • Teresa, I have a question, how do you finish this afghan off? I am almost finished with this pattern, it's for my baby nephew, and I am not sure how to finish it. Could you help?

  • @Canthony12 When you get to the end, you will cut your yarn, pull the yarn through the stitch, give it a tug and sew in the tail.

  • I have completed my first baby afghan using this pattern. :) Turn out so nice!!

Thank you, once again! You must be a great person, good and kind soul! God bless you!

  • @SEG2107 I appreciate the comment, thank you! Please share a video response of your blanket!

  • Thank you for making crocheting easy for someone that's brain dead like me. For many years I tries to read patterns and have failed miserably. I have since learned I am audio/visual and if you tell me what to do and show me how it's done it sticks in my head. I have patients that are going to have their first baby and I am going to crochet them a blanket, thank you!!!

  • @BrazenHusssey You are welcome! I appreciate the comment!

  • Hi Teresa. I notice that you used a fairly large hook here. Is that just because it's easier to demonstrate and film using a large hook? If so, what size hook would you use to create a blanket for an adult?

  • @cascadejacques You can use any size hook that fits with the yarn you are using. I recommend a size I-5-5mm -- K-6.5mm or larger. The larger hooks will give your blanket/afghan a looser feel. If you want tighter stitches, use a smaller crochet hook.

  • thank you very much! I've learned how to grow itself through your video

  • i love ur video pls make some more thxx

  • I'm new to crochet and your videos are GREAT!!! Very clear explanation and easy to follow even for a beginner like me. Thanks for your great videos ^^

  • Thanks Teresa,

I'm making a baby afgan, could you tell me how many rows it should be.

  • HI, I love how this pattern looks. I was just curious how many do you chain to make an adult size blanket?

  • @strmlily I will estimate a chain of 180-250.

  • I am a Level 1 beginner, I wish I can do this scarf for myself only with the shell. I wish I can do it. Thanks for explaining everything when you are doing it.

Udon in Canada (very cold now)

  • @udon890 I will send you the beginner crochet playlist. Lets hope that winter does not last long up there.

  • @chikitinata Thank you! This does work up as a very nice crochet scarf!

  • Super todo o que enseña, muchísimas gracias

  • Nice instructional! Pretty stitch.

  • @NancyToday Thank you.

  • Hi,

I read your instructions. I will chain 225 and start as said in the instruction and the video tutorial. The problem is:

    1) In the end you have left many loose string which add beauty to the shawl. Let me know if that is done only after you crochet the entire shawl or done as you crochet each row.

    2) I am able to proceed till u have done in the video but doing further is quite difficult for me. Do you have an entire video how to do the entire shawl?

    Please let me know.

  • hi iam fathima

i have to learn shape of neck and arms for making crochet sweter or coat

  • How many chains would I have to do to make an afghan?

  • @mercyhurstchic I would estimate around 200 chains. You can always chain more if you think it does not look wide enough.

  • thanks

  • i want to crochet a shawl but don't know how to .can you please help .i love your vedeos

  • WoW! This was GREAT! THANKS!!!

  • is there any way you can have this look. except in as a beenie?

  • LOVE IT!! Thanks!

  • hi do u have a video on how to do an edging on this

  • I'm confused as to what happens after the 2 rows of DC. Do you perhaps have the written instructions for the "additional way to work the pattern stitch" as shown in your video, in addition to how the pattern should be followed after that??? I am happy with the way the piece is working up so far, but I hestitate to proceed for fear of doing something wrong. I would appreciate any help you could give me. It's because of you that I have taken up crocheting again. Thank you!

  • Will u do a video on how to crochet the pin wheel stitch

    thnx

  • I have several wheel stitch video tutorials.

  • Thank you for this so which type of needle is best for this because am gonna start making an afghan for my friends baby am a beginner plis advice.

  • I am using a size 5.5mm/I crochet hook.

  • After watching your videos, I have learned how to make two stitches and I am almost finished my blanket. Thanks and keep them coming.

  • I'm trying to make a scarf using only the shell crochet. What would be the best way to end the scarf so that the final edge is smooth like the rest of the edges?

    Thanks a lot!

  • You can stagger the stitches using single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet to fill in the valley's.

  • i really did'nt know how to stitch crochet. But after watching your videos, i have started stitching. i have made baby beanie cap , scarf for my baby and now i am making an afghan for my daughter.

thanks a ton for your excellent videos.

  • You are welcome. I appreciate the comment. Happy Crocheting!!!

  • I taught myself how to crochet, just simple stitches (I didn't even know they had names) and after watching this video (about 18 times) I feel like I actually know what I am doing... I am making an afghan for my sister's first child now in this pattern.... Thank you SO much!!

  • You are welcome. Congratulations on the anticipated arrival to your family.

  • hi, first off i want to say that I absolutely love your tutorials! One quick question though, how are you holding your yarn? I can't really tell.. thanks!

  • I will send you the video of how I hold my yarn. I hold it with my last 3 fingers on my left hand curled around it.

  • Great pattern! I love your tutorials!

I figure the pattern is a multiple of 5+3. Am I correct?

  • The multiple is 6.

  • The multiple is 6.
