  • ....Kenpo...

  • -Unfortunately, unless you are doing a two-man set, most of the two person drilling is just the same movement repeated over and over again and it is not alive as in the malaysian/filipino stuff.

  • -I've been a mantis student for over twenty five years-What a I realized from my studies of kali/jkd/and silat is that you have to have a continuous flow whilst protecting/hitting from your face. The waste chamber is merely to train waste movement for power. Incorporate boxing training and you'll start to see what I mean. Take the principles(12) and the techniques out of the forms and train them in a shadowboxing format with continous motion and you'll start to see how to use it.

  • Excellent mantis Lindsay! Hope you are still training!

  • Hey, I practice northern praying mantis and this drill looked pretty cool. It's hard to tell because of the camera, could you list the movements so I can learn and practice this? XD

  • pretty awesome. this drill is harder than most of the ones i've seen before. it probably takes a while to get it right.

  • Nice speed, iv been learning KickBoxing so am new to Mantis, one thing I would say is make your strikes more real, your hook to his head would never connect whereas if you didnt duck and slip he would have hit you! Thats my humble feedback.

  • Excellent video on a very effective 7star drill variation, very good form on both practitioners' parts and keep up the good videos...more please!

  • Looks like the Mike I remember... been a long time, good video. Looks great.
