i have a 03 6liter and when i start it cold it blows blue/white smoke out of the exaust when reved above 1200 rpm and has very little power untill warm but when it finally warms up it goes away and runs like a dream please help me im stuck
Is it doing the engine any harm leaving it idling for 5-10 minutes? Would you say it's better for the motor to leave running for a few minutes at idle rather then turning off and on?
@hOnDaRaCeRr Idling the 6.0 for long periods of time will coke up the EGR system leading to several maladies that can if left unchecked be troublesome and expensive. EGR delete will solve those issues.
Hey bud, I had a question I've been woundering for ever but nobody has a straight answer so I thought I'd ask an expert haha. You see so many psd owners letting there trucks idle for 5-10 minutes while in the store or stopping at a job site quickly. Why is that? Is it better off leaving it run for awhile then shuting the truck off and on? Thanks a bunch!
@f350powerstroke So far so good on the all FORD 6.7 diesel, but it has only been a year and there only a few on the road because no one can afford them or cant get financed. I have dibs on a 2011 wreck that has the mounts broken on the block so it will be the perfect motor to learn on.
@powerstrokehelp thats cool cant wait to see ur video on it. me and my buddy with a 6.7 go back n forth on the design i say its almost like a copied duramax with reverse alum heads and turbo in the valley. anyway i guess ford really did thier homework with the 6.7!
ive heard these trucks have had alot of problems with the oil cooler and i want to put a oil temp guage to keep a close eye on the temps. i was wondering if you would give me advice on where i should tap to get the oil reading , and what should a normal temp truck be reading when i have it installed
@ powerstrokehelp i forgot to mention i do have the egr delete already and the sct tuner with dp tunes but do not like them very much so i use the stock tunes! so would it be around 7K total cash? i would call but at work..
@spion2 The final price is hard to determine due to the actual condition of the engine but with the heads rebuilt, arp studs, egr delete kit, dp-tuner tuner, main bearings, rod bearings, oil pump, ALL the gaskets and seals including the Black onyx head gaskets, oil and filter, fuel filter, thermostat, coolant, freon etc. The total $8500 is a cash price. Call 770-931-4070
By any chance does any one know what the laws are in New York, Do they make you leave the EGR on or can you put A EGR delete on the 6.0's

@kubotaboy123 I'd have to check it out to be sure but it sounds like you will be needing injectors soon. Does it get worse the the colder it is?

@hOnDaRaCeRr Most times I think folks idle their PSD trucks to keep the AC cold when they come back.

@tjgreen23 Install it at the engine oil temp sensor on top of the engine right next to the oil cooler.

it will be better than new when your done with it.
V8Jagnut 9 months ago
@V8Jagnut not exactly but if the engine is in basically good shape with some wear it will help it go a little further.
