It IS such a powerful and moving peice of music. I viewed the Ten Commandments this past Easter, and the music score caused me to actually search it out on the INTERNET and I came to this youtube site. Thanks so much for uploading this powerful and moving music. Awesome!

Toward the end of the movie Avatar there is a section of music that reminds me of a passage from The Ten Commandments

I know you were just drawing comparisions but in my humble opinion, Avatar doesn't hold a candle to this movie. James Cameron can throw all of the CGI he wants at us but it'll never be as good as real sets, real people and real actors. Not to mention, I think Cecil B. Demille is a much better director than James and on top of that he doesn't have the music of Elmer Bernstein!

This is definately a Masterpiece! the entire Soundtrack is just amazing and perfect for this Monumental Movie! This is my all time favorite movie. My family gets angry with me because whenever we watch it at Easter time, I can say each line Verbatum and exactly the way the actors say their lines

@NFitalianGuy Thanks for the reply and sorry for me not answering promptly. I did listen to the whole score after downloading it. While I did enjoy the music, it is unfortunate that the downloaded files are somewhat low quality and cannot in all honesty be a substitute for a high quality CD release. However, I am glad that at least I listened to the whole thing.I have the official MCA CD (which is not the complete score). Have you watched the movie on Blu Ray. It looks awesome!

I heard this score at age 7, and was from that moment on, hooked on the power of music. I eventually became a high school band director for 31 years, and have taught college-level classes for over 20 years. The music of Elmer Bernstein, along with that of the Beatles shaped my life forever!
