  • Hai guys I know this isn't CRX related, but I got a 92 Acura Integra GS, non-VTEC so I wanted to compensate for that. What's some good starter parts I can add on. Honda pros only. Oh and no Ricers ok. I'm sick of hearing "Yo D4WG adding an NX sticker to yo civic adds 270hp!"

  • chicks don't like VTEC FACT

  • does not look over 9000!!!!!!!

  • Weak vtec...

  • @GarrettKeetley get a decent cold air intake and an exhaust that doesnt sound like a fart can and they sound beautiful. Tanabe makes an exhaust for Honda that has been tested to put out no more than 93 decibels, for a high performance exhaust with no catalytic converter, thats pretty damn quiet.

  • sooooooo god damn slow

  • 0-100 in 7.5 seconds nice thats pretty good about as fast as a 88 corvette

  • you'll see the car for sale saying "never abused"

  • Comment removed

  • can u say valve float?

  • u should buy a new clutch...

  • the vetec is basically variable valve timing

  • Lol it lookd like Vtec kicked in at 7k rpm, shouldnt it be 5500 on EE/EF 8?

  • VTEC just KICKED IN... YO!

  • you can kill a honda really hard by over heating it...

  • @teufel6611 hahaha do u talk from experience...

  • @adunn225 yeah...

  • @kainepoiss except honda invented it first and applied it to its cars in 1992... so... yeah... VVT-i is a close copy of VTEC

  • V-TEC powerrrrr :D

  • v-tec means variable valve timing system

  • it means variable valve timing and lift electronic control

  • tve hoši ta HONDIČKA vrčé jk TIGRA HHHH

  • stupid kids

  • Get a real car, that's better!

  • but its gotta be b16a

  • b16 na all day

  • Why brag about 8k revs when its still slow?

  • Because those kids are stupid and try to show how to overspeed an engine and destroy it by bending valves.

  • yea thats it lol...

  • u cant kill a honda by over reving

  • Of course,,,,, Honda engines defy laws of physics...

  • yes you can you stupid fuck

  • your stupid. thats the ONLY way to kill a honda.

  • @JuicedJetta Or drive it for 3 years and watch the body disintegrate.

  • SOCH -single over read camshaft , DOCH - Double over head camshaft . doch is more agressive

  • do u mean sohc and doch.. WELL THIS THING HAS VTEC VROOM VROOM

  • sorry.. but.. d16 stock?

    with aftermarket filter?

  • Honda neznicitelny motory

  • tuned b16a??

  • lol stick some new heads on, higher compression, build the engine, then u'll see some more action at 8k +

  • yh and what about the money its easier said than done

  • i didn't see no 9000 revs - those were 8500 revs lol...

  • brutal sound :):):)

  • ????

  • and by the way im not a honda hater .. im a fan of em as long as they are some stock d series engine lol

  • why?

  • cuz stock d's are awesome. Though I love my f22b1 too...

  • SAVE THE SOHC's!!!

  • why SOHC when you could have DOHC!

  • Save the SOHC's man! SOHC's are obviously way cheaper to buy and you can build one pretty cheap. Everyone is going DOHC these days, so like me, I went with a SOHC. I put a d16y8 with pretty low miles in my 95' civic Hatch.

  • funny thing about this video .. is that even tho it can handle going up close to 9k rpms.. the horsepower dropped off around 8k rpms .. so that extra 1k rpm is worthless .. put it on a dyno and see how much power you have at 9k rpms i bet its little to none.. but whatever lol.

  • Thank you.

People dont get it, shifting that high actually makes your car slower. The power band is like 1k after V-tec

  • @Aceman196 around 6500-6800rpm with most B engines to be precise

  • @Aceman196 Very true, but the sound is just awesome at those ridiculous rpm's :P

  • @Aceman196 You are incorrect. Yes, maybe after 7500rpm the powerband isn't what is was, but it's the gearing that dictates when to shift. You must ride out the gear so you can shift in the middle of the powerband. Shift early into below the powerband is actually slower.

  • @Aceman196 This may be true, but after you grab the next gear, it puts you right into the prime part of the power band. Most stock honda vtec engines have a very small powerband (powerful for a 4 banger but a small RPM range), getting each gear to fall on the perfect RPM makes quite a difference. Obviously this can be altered by modifications but for the most part riding a gear out will improve your next gear acceleration.

  • @Aceman196 in ee9 it's right at 7400-7600 rpm, so about 2k after v-tec, but still, it's not really good to shift at ~9000... isn't the limiter at 8500?

  • @anaestheticdub Stock it is but you can chip the ecu, upgrade valve springs,by aftermarket ecus, vtec controllers, vtec can kick in at 2k anything can be done, and theirs still power to redline

  • @Aceman196 well i dunno but i dont think this car has vtec, so it depends, but going in to redline def does not inprove accelration

  • @geppegep You know nothing about tuning NA engines do you?

  • @kimgulle Absolutely nothing.

  • @Aceman196 Your an idiot. lol. does not make the car slower. For all you know he has a set of cams in a b-series and aint maken power till 7.5-8 k

  • all hondas love reving out, thats wat they are made for, red area means nothing.. re-chip the cr-x and send it to 10k :D

  • time for new clutch/flywheel... while your at it you might as well replace the motor and driver too.

  • Do you know why there is the red marker ?its with guys like you should kill the rare honda engine, but you still do,lol

  • How are Honda inline engines rare? You could get a running one off Craigslist for like 200 bucks dude! And these mofos will do 9grand all day... Mashing the engine into redline is partly what makes the Honda I4's sound so lovely.

  • I live in Germany.

Here they are rare, because all you could get are in bad condition,if the paint from the valve cap is allredy splintered its not in realy good condition and wont have his full power.

I bought my CRX from an old woman(maybe 55) and the engine looks like new and it sure still has it 124hp.

  • poor clutch

  • God damn this is fucking slow as hell. Watch the speedometer the few times it shows the left side of it (which is the only side the needle is on)

  • so what kind of fast car do you drive then? and I'm not asking about your playstation games.

  • Playstation? I havnt played one of thos in years. I drive a 2002 Trans am ws6, recently bought, thank you for asking

  • crap

  • pěkně hoši to je pecka auto :)

  • learn how not to ride you clutch

  • its VTEC!!! not v-tec..

  • who of that 2 is better?

  • hahaha

  • did you punch it at 10 sec.? or is there just that much power at 7000?

  • No Vtec No Fun

  • vtec goes from 4900 all the way to 9000 rpm dipshit lol. He can rev to 9 grand hes still in vtec when he goes past the redline are you that dumb.

  • My Vtec kicks in around 5.200 Rpm ( B16A1 )

  • did i hear someone say that Vtec kicks in past redline...? what are you an idiot or something it kicks in between 4500-5500 rpm

  • shits weak. pos

  • hahahaha. i love how rapper kids try to make cars fast.

  • first of all learn how to shift and that car is SLOW!!!!

  • wtf are you smoking? VTEC engages at 4900RPM stock on a d16z6 engine. the redline on that particular engine is STOCK 7200 RPM. i dont know what you mean by "it engages past redline" but its wrong.

  • @Cervan it could be swaped... it dint sound like a D.

  • sound weak lol

  • but its got vtec and high hp of 120

  • VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO

  • why always the discussion about japanese and american cars? that are two different types..american cars: power with help of diplacement..japanese cars: power through revs or turbo..so close your mouth haters..

  • americans need like 40000 litres to get 1hp, obviously thats an aprox. :P

  • It is not about HP, it is about TORQUE. Have you ever heard of torque? :)

  • yeh it what you "know-it-alls" have on here,, all torque! :P

  • Torque is for Semi Trucks and cars that weigh two metric tons. You don't need a big engine with lot's of torque in a small light car. Just a 8-9k redline.

  • i have a LS1 in a nissan 240sx... whats that make me?

  • a god

  • sounds delicious

  • i have the same car and unless you gauge is switched it only goes up tp 8000rpm in wich case you only went up to 7.5k wich obveously is more than stock (6.5k) but still not 9k....

btw I, like most others like hondas over american cars simply do to the versatility and budget compared to american muscle cars plus i find no fun in the fact that if you own a good muscle car and know how to tune it you beat every one... atleast in jap cars theres huge competition

  • This is the SiR CRX. The CRX Si redlines at 6500, and rev limits are 7200 (what you're talking about).

The SiR redlines at 8200, and rev limits at 8500 or something close. Different motor, not a different cluster. This car uses the B16A motor, while you car has the D16A6.

  • engine is built to withstand 9k rpms all day long.....go read a lil.

  • what do you think its a rotary? might not last too long with that treatment.

  • no, it's a honda engine. :) built to rev

  • You're tach must be off, that barely sounded like 8.5k

  • 9000rpm my ass

  • to bad it's still slow even revving to 9 grand.

  • Why are some people so stupid. You do realise this is only a 1.6? Imagine an american 1.6 ... How slow would that be?

  • How about you don't question some peoples stupidity by one comment. Plus how do you know it is a 1.6??? could be a 1.8... and good comparison to an american engine... do you realize your the idiot? Plus I would rather have the tq curve of a american engine over the entire rpm range then the tiny hp curve of a high revving 1.6L B16a

  • sounds tinny

  • 9k? hope your springs are uprated?

Valve bounce can be a painful thing!

  • decent
