  • What emulator is this??

  • @Slayerfan777 Pretty sure it's NEStopia.

  • @HardWiredGaming Awesome, thanks! :D

  • Luigi's just trying to be green...

  • The Wii U better have something similar to this.

  • Mario is a RED Engineer. Luigi is a BLU spy with damaged disguise. The switch is Mario's sentry.

  • same music than the game cube menu(slower)

  • 0:36 Luigi: Mario don't do it....no...no....NOOOO! 0:40 Mario: RAVE PARTEEEEEE

  • hmmmm.... this was the first thing Nintendo made that used disks, and the Gamecube was Nintendo's first console to use disks by default. so is that why they put that in the startup? hmmmmmmm......

  • loading time is not as bad as a NEO GEO cd

  • How do you play fds games on the rocknes x emulator?

  • I need help running this. I have the disksys.rom file in the right place, but I don't know how to make the games run.

  • There's so much emotion expressed with 8-bit pixels. I love it!

  • boneriffic

  • So this is the gamecube boot up if it wasn't slowed down?

  • 日本限定発売だったそうだね。

  • I love the tune in the beginning. Especially its reuse in Paper Mario 2.

  • @hardysforever slow it down about 20x and that's the gamecube sound.

  • I downloaded the BIOS, put it in my base NES folder, and renamed it disksys.rom. But all I get when I try to load an FDS game is a gray screen. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or do I just have a bad bios? I'm hoping it's the former.

  • Did anyone notice, that the gamecube menu music is actually this theme just VERY slowed down ?

  • @DigitalGreenTea

I'm sure you just read that from Wikipedia.

  • 0:01 SEIZURE TIME!

    0:40 SEIZURE TIME!

  • hey when did this come out i've never heard of it

  • no way I just found out that the sound the gamecube menu makes when idle is the melody at the beginning of this video slowed down alot

  • It can combine on the N64DD and the GameCube.

On the GameCube, when a memory card is in and you instantly have too much data, the cube shakes as it plays.

On the N64DD,when the memory card is tilted the"N"logo falls and stands up as it plays.

  • 3:00 Holy fuck, that was shocking.

  • awsome!

  • Gee Mario seemed to have a preference for lighter, brighter colors while Luigi wanted blue or darker colors. Perhaps Luigi liked being in the dark even back then.

  • Luigi: I'm turning this off.

Mario: SON OF A BITCH, NO!!!!

    Luigi: oh shit.....

    lol

  • Okay, I finally got to hear it, and yes, I guess you're all right about this. I was unclear on the concept up until about three days ago.

  • For your information, the Famicom Disk System's BIOS tune would later be used in the Nintendo Gamecube's operating system menu, however the tune would have to be slowed down a bit.

  • @jrdavis1992 by 16 times you mean

  • 0:43 Push start to rich!

  • Plumbers sure have a lot of time on their hands.

  • Whenever I watch the few seconds of this video and hear the music going, I feel the urge to fist-pump and say, "Fuck yes Nintendo!"

  • Mario & Luigi fighting over the color sceme of the Nintendo sign was refferenced in Tetris DS

  • I saw a Famicom + Disk System + SMB2 irl tonight!!! I Touched it with my physical hands!!! SQUEEEE

  • It's interesting how they have Mario and Luigi there, on the startup screen, before they were really known as Nintendo's mascots.

  • in paper mario 2 there is this startup screen to if you are playing peachg on the moon base and go to the computer it comes ..

  • lol

  • It reminds me of the theme song from the show Benny Hill

  • This jingle is now my computer startup sound.

  • mario is a douchebag to luigi

  • 0:02 seizure warning

  • Mario is so MEAN!

  • Mario beat his ass.

  • It's like that Pink Panther-cartoon.

  • Nintendo. The final frontier.

  • QUICK! someone slow this down 25 times!

  • @Natendo64

    it's the GameCube menu music

  • @Keroshino Yeah but I wanna hear how that sounds.

  • Get him mario!

  • lol Luigi better watch the hell out!

  • i could watch this two go at it all day

  • Why does Luigi like dark blue? That's an interesting touch.

  • The tune in the beginning is the tune used for the GameCube Menu.

  • Yeah, I can just barely hear the resemblance.

No sarcasm intended, they do sound similar.

  • Well, this is a 6 second tune, roughly, and the GameCube menu BGM is slowed down so much, the 6 seconds is stretched out to just under 2 minutes. Each of the notes is about 5 - 10 seconds long (maybe more).

  • I saw your comparison video. You've got a good ey- er, ear.

  • Download the GameCube tune and speed it up at 400%, you'll hear the FDS tune perfectly.

  • uhm yeah, I was sort of the one that spread that

even got it featured on GoNintendo :C

  • @ABoredGameDev

You should have told people how to do it, some people aren't believing you. I downloaded the MP3 from YouTube (FireFox plugin), converted it to WAV using a freeware and speed the thing up to 400% using SoundRecorder from Windows.

  • Didn't really need too, since I posted enough information in my... post.

I was going to record myself doing it, and make it a video response to ultimatekoopa's video. Don't know if i'll do it in the end, though, since it might be a bit too late now.

  • lol! that freggin awesome.

  • oh great it's in my VirtualNES program directory but i says BATTERY ERR .02 WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • gootube2000: Is it the "disksys.rom" file? It has to be that particular image, and it must be a valid one.

  • OH WAIT i found out why it was downloaded in a .nes file and it was called Famicom Disk System BIOS (J).nes AND i was only opening it. But that was only because i had no idea how to use it.

  • gootube2000: i have this same like u

    HELP!

    some informations on PM

  • ok, i put the disk system bios in the same directory as the VirtuaNES program. but, i still get an error. below the Nintendo logo, it says, BATTERY ERR .02

    i can't figure out what's going on. @.@

  • KlonoaKawaiiDesu: Are you actually opening the BIOS ROM with the open command?

  • i realized that i was, and i finally figured it out. but how do you actually run the bios's animation like in this video?

  • KlonoaKawaiiDesu: In this case, I started a FDS rom then "ejected" it and soft-reset the "system". Since it thinks it's running a FDS with no disk, it does this.

  • @HardWiredGaming I did it in Nestopia. Load a disk, power "it"(the "Famicom") off, eject the disk and power on.

  • @Dark0Lord7 So did I. The info is facetious.

  • I'm using Virtuanes emulator, but the disk system bios isn't working right. It shows an error #2 or something. Can anyone tell me how to set up the emulator so it plays the disk system bios and disk system games rather than just being able to play regular NES and Famicom cartridge games?

  • KlonoaKawaiiDesu: Well, I don't speak crazy moon-man squiggle language, but from what I can tell, you need to have disksys.rom in the same directory as the VirtuaNES program file. Beyond that, I haven't a clue.

  • And now for my actual comment: Luigi seems like an emo there. >_>

    And 0:42 to 0:45 - RAVE PARTY!

  • It's funny how Mario and Luigi are fighting over the brightness and colour. P.S. Run Luigi run! (At 0:25)

  • What's the difference between a NES game and a Famicom game? Same question for the systems as well..

  • famicon disk system is an NES the uses floppy disk instead of cartridges...there is also the regular Famicon that is a toploader that uses cartridges the only difference that i know of is the appearance

  • To kript0s: There's also the controller differences. The controllers are hardwired to the Famicom while you attach the NES controllers manually.

  • many thanks

  • i wish i had a famicom so bad

  • Rydia3667: Then I suppose the next question is, which emulator?

  • Rydia3667: Are you using an actual one, or an emulator?

  • Nintendo should just put THIS on the Virtual Console.

    XD

  • To KomaruMeadre: Could do as a DSiWare Clock, too. I'd love Mario and Luigi to duke it out randomly!

Actually, make it a DSiWare 500. Mario Bros for DSiWare with Famicom Disk System style clock included! PERFECT COMBO.

  • Reminds me of Mario and Luigi fighting at the Mario Bros. 3 title screen.

  • Hilarious!! x'D

Indeed to bad they don't it anymore nowedays.

  • Why don't companies do cute shit like this with their consoles anymore? I mean, I was blown away when a friend of mine showed me that even the cruddy old Sega Master System had a small snake-like game built right into it.

Why don't people do this anymore?

  • WatMcWatley: I'd say it's because we're at the point where our consoles are utilitarian.

  • It has... in the shop channel of the wii you see mario jumpingXD Its better then: 10 percent... 20 percent... XD

  • @ankevroon in an Easter egg, you can Press A to Throw a Fireball.

  • Strange, the FDS BIOS i used to play DDP just said "FAMICOM" instead of "Nintendo".

  • that means it was taken from sharp's twin famicom, search it on here if you dont know what it is

  • Good job recording this.

  • Thank you! I was looking for this!
