Hey, thanks for the quick and helpful explanation of CBT. It helps to see how we recreate our family of origin "patterns" in our present lives, and it also helps to pick the proper place to vent and work on negative aspects of ourselves.
If we dont help people to alter the negative beliefs that drive those unhelful behaviours he's talking about, surely we're asking them to row upstream without a paddle...?
Maybe this is a very medical opinion of what CBT is, but I'm sure a few people would argue that its not a psychological one....
I dont believe this is an accurate description of CBT. For some reason he thinks that they way you 'present' youselves is enough to improve your situation. Its heavily biased towards changing your behaviour when actually Cognitive behavioural therapy is based on eliciting peoples negative Thoughts and Beliefs and helping them to challenge the accuracy of them.
