sequels take me out of the movie so often and are so clearly made for 12 year old boys that I simply can never see me buying them. However...I caved in pretty quickly to buying the blu rays of the original trilogy...in fact I knew within seconds of telling myself I would'nt give GL any more of my cash he was going to get it anyway pretty damn soon. You really must stop saying shit that you have to retract weeks later. lol.
I'll confess as well that I like watching the prequels too, despite their mediocrity. They're far from being the worst movies ever made. Although after seeing the Red Letter Media reviews, I can never watch them the same way again. If I ever see the Phantom Menace in 3-D, I want to quote the reviews and shout "Palpatine's behind it all!" at least once in the theater.
Hehe, I love the prequels. I grew up with them. One of the best memories of my life is going to see all three films on the movies with my dad every three years.
It's a testament to the novelty and enduring power of Lucas' original trilogy, that discerning viewers will continue to buy his prequels and his seemingly infinite number of poorly altered re-releases of the original trilogy. The impetus for why we keep being suckered into paying Lucas money for a product that he continually has desecrated is that we are seeking that original awe and wonder that we experienced when we first saw the original trilogy. Unfortunately, that will never happen.

I wouldn't even call it Lucas's trilogy. He owns the rights and got the ball rolling but that's about it. I think we can give more credit for the greatness of the trilogy to people like Irvin Kershner. John Williams, the editors (who rescued Ep 4 from being shit) and the design / special effects team. I suspect the reason does the stupid things he does is becasue deep down he knows he's a charlaton and he wants to prove something.
@shlockofgod You make a very good point there. I dread to think how ep 4 would have ended up looking had George Lucas had controlled as much of the production as he did the prequels. George Lucas seriously lacked a good script editor in those. So much clunky dialogue - a nausiating "romance", too much politics, characters that no one cares about and stupidly overblown action and some pretty iffy cgi at times.
lol jk. They're bad, but no matter how bad something is, it's ok to have a few guilty pleasures. I love the conan the barbarian movies. It's cool man.
FIrst 3 are fine, imo.
People who get all up in arms about that shit is fucking sad... It's a film.

I still haven't seen Revenge of the Sith all the way through. After seeing Episodes I and II I was so dismayed I said, "fuck it" and gave up.

@tommylehman Sith is the best of the three.

In the spirit of embarrassing confessions, Revenge of the Sith is my second favorite of the Star Wars movies.
Good job in making an unboxing video interesting.

I'm over Star Wars.
The fact that I can say that is testament to how much the insane changes have finally killed the movies for me.
George Lucas is a bloody-minded jackass, desperately polishing his turds as if the next coat of polish will make them not be turds.
