I always liked HP computers, they are dependable, and are of great quality. Been going with Dell for the past two years, and they don't seem as good as HP. Wished I'd have kept my HP. As for Apple, I have an iPhone, and I love it! Thing works great, it's got a great design, nice interface, and is reallly fun to use. Hoping soon I can get a Macbook Pro, or a Macbook Air.

PC users have stereotypes of mac computers. In the past macs may have sucked a lot compared to pc's, but the new ones like Imac are good computers. I have never got a single virus with my mac coms. And as for gaming I say that a lot of new games are constantly getting released on macs as well since the arrival of steam on mac. A lot more than in the past. As for apps I say that u can get a windows operating system on a mac as well. And pc can't run mac exclusive apps so macs are good computers.

@Famousreflex1 u can use pretty much any USB mouse u want. So u can use a pc mouse on a mac as well. And also if u hate the mouse, cuz it has only one button, then I'm just saying that u can actually depending on the mouse u can change the settings so that when u press the same button from the right side it has the right click as well. Although u can't press both at the same time which is why I bought a mouse with two buttons.

It's a myth that Macs are more reliable than PCs, with similar hard-ware configurations, both are extremely reliable. Most problems for PCs tend to be cheapness of parts. Many people thus blame the PC, or Windows, because their external hard-drive or optical drive wont display when it was actually a poor power supply that could not distribute enough power.
Macs are only more expensive and avoid these issues intentionally, but performance/dollar value is actually lower than a PC.
It follows then that if someone is willing to spend the same amount of money on a PC that they are on a Mac, they would be able to avoid numerous issues, especially longevity.
Then it simply comes down to what OS one likes. Most Linux distros are great, and despite its reputation, Windows actually tends to be excellent and very stable. Many people unfortunately blame Windows when it was their third-party software that caused a crash. But at least PCs are not closed gardens.

Spend more on your PC, but don't just put all your money into the video card or processor, make sure you invest in a decent power supply, spend a little extra for better cabling, a better housing, and quality is all parts. Look at companies like Fujitsu-Siemens as an example. You get a better built laptop, even if it is a little less powerful than you could have had otherwise for the same money.
The only thing you can realy upgrade on a mac is the RAM, iMacs have either a low profile or integrated graphic card so even if mac graphic cards were readily available for individual purchase it would be a huge pain in the ass to take the bitch apart and swap out. The problem I have with HP is their overall build quality. At one point, pre-i series intel, HP laptops had a failure rate of almost 25% in 2 years. That is TERRIBLE! their budget PCs were junk! I do actually have a friend that has a high quality HP laptop ($1500) and it is rock solid.

I just custom built a sandybridge PC(2600k@5.0GHZ) with 2x 560ti's and 16GB of ram to my balls what mac people think, I'm currently running Dreamweaver cs5.5, Vegas Pro 10, Photoshop CS 5 , 40 tabs on my firefox without a sweat and no I don't get crashes lol, Windows 7 has got to be the most stable OS for me, I use to have a Mac pro for Djing, it was a mess.

I like to see that there are logical discussions here, first of all Steve jobs has cancer so it is a good choice to quit and fight it, secondly, the Mac at my house is about 6 years old now and we have hardly had any problems ( only my parents not knowing how to install an update) still works fine, yet we went thru 5 PC's in a year so I think in the long term aspect macs are more reliable

It's a myth that Macs are more reliable than PCs, with similar hard-ware configurations, both are extremely reliable. Most problems for PCs tend to be cheapness of parts. Many people thus blame the PC, or Windows, because their external hard-drive or optical drive wont display when it was actually a poor power supply that could not distribute enough power.
Macs are only more expensive and avoid these issues intentionally, but performance/dollar value is actually lower than a PC.

It follows then that if someone is willing to spend the same amount of money on a PC that they are on a Mac, they would be able to avoid numerous issues, especially longevity.
Then it simply comes down to what OS one likes. Most Linux distros are great, and despite its reputation, Windows actually tends to be excellent and very stable. Many people unfortunately blame Windows when it was their third-party software that caused a crash. But at least PCs are not closed gardens.

Spend more on your PC, but don't just put all your money into the video card or processor, make sure you invest in a decent power supply, spend a little extra for better cabling, a better housing, and quality is all parts. Look at companies like Fujitsu-Siemens as an example. You get a better built laptop, even if it is a little less powerful than you could have had otherwise for the same money.

The only thing you can realy upgrade on a mac is the RAM, iMacs have either a low profile or integrated graphic card so even if mac graphic cards were readily available for individual purchase it would be a huge pain in the ass to take the bitch apart and swap out. The reasan people dont have problems with mac is because of how their so universal. Everything is made by apple so it will always be compatible. I just bought an hp completely unaware of this. I love my hp because i customized the specs. I made cost as much as an apple macbook but paid significantly less. The problem I have with HP is their overall build quality. At one point, pre-i series intel, HP laptops had a failure rate of almost 25% in 2 years. That is TERRIBLE! their budget PCs were junk! I do actually have a friend that has a high quality HP laptop ($1500) and it is rock solid.

I just custom built a sandybridge PC(2600k@5.0GHZ) with 2x 560ti's and 16GB of ram to my balls what mac people think, I'm currently running Dreamweaver cs5.5, Vegas Pro 10, Photoshop CS 5 , 40 tabs on my firefox without a sweat and no I don't get crashes lol, Windows 7 has got to be the most stable OS for me, I use to have a Mac pro for Djing, it was a mess.
